CleoDen's Journal, 23 February 2018

First entry. Started this journey at 498#. I am now at 259#. I am now 16 months post op from sleeve surgery and in less than a week I will be 1 year cancer free. I would like to lose another 84ish pounds. My weight loss has slowed down but that was expected. I haven't exercised but had a stress test and passed with flying colors. The doctor gave me permission to exercise as much as I can. So after the weekend it's time to join a gym. It's kind of scary cause I've never exercised. Hopefully my weight loss will speed up again.

Hope you find a gym you enjoy! Mine has good classes and a free training session so if you get that, take notes about what to do.

Very awesome and once you start to exercise go slow then you will crave it (kinda like food only better)

Awesome! That's so amazing. Be sure to go slow.... walk on the treadmill for a while and let your bones get used to it, then slowly build up. Congrats and keep up the good work!

Wow, Impressive. A good gym will do an intake with you and develop a plan for the gym so you do not overdo, pull a muscle, etc. etc. You can just go in and go at it, but....also, you could start with a session or two of personal training so you learn how to use the equipment to your benefit! It will be worth it. I am just getting back to the gym after a significant injury. Today was an eval appt to figure out where to start and what my immediate goals are and the long term. What you have done is SOOOOOO amazing. Keep at it.

I survived lung cancer and started with yoga as my exercise. It's less stressful than cardio training to begin with.

Congrats on the weight loss. Just keep in mind that once you begin exercising, you may gain some weight in muscle mass. DO NOT let it discourage you! It is all part of getting fit and staying healthy!
