There we go!!! I'm finally seeing the results of this fast on the scale!

I'm still fasting today, 6.5 days in. Today's observations: I woke up and my hands feel stiff and fingers have visible fluid retention. Ring won't fit over knuckle. Even though I was able to get my ring on yesterday, it never got to the point where it usually does feeling loose. I did not take any salt water last night before bed, thinking that the sodium in it is what was causing the fluid retention. Still not sure about that aspect.

I stopped at the health food store last night while I was out. I bought some Farmhouse Culture brand Gut Shots in the classic (sauerkraut?) flavor, since it has no carbs or protein or fat. I also bought some Dolomite powder, which is a calcium and magnesium supplement, so I will try that with my No Salt potassium supplement today to see how that goes.

I have some real estate work to do this morning, Going to help peel potatoes and start cooking this afternoon for our annual chicken noodle dinner that is held tomorrow as a Girl Scout fundraiser, and we are having a murder mystery party this evening at a castle here in town for our company. It should be an exciting day. Enjoy your weekend!

So what do you consume during your fast, I could never do this unless I ran out of food lol!

@8Patty: Water, pink Himalayan salt, electrolyte replacement supplement. Coffee and/or tea. If I feel hungry, I may eat or mix in a tablespoon or two of coconut oil only to my hot drinks. The fat only will make you feel satiated, but doesn't create an insulin response, so it does not break the effects of autophagy, which is a big reason why I'm fasting, to reduce the amount of excess/saggy skin.

Are you following a specific program? I’ve read several articles and studies on fasting, but I’m always interested in learning more about it. I just completed a week of prep for a fast where I ate fruits and vegetables the first half of the week and only veggies the second half. Today is my first fast day. I lost 4 lbs during the prep week. I’m definitely hungry, but it’s tolerable. I understand that the hunger should be gone after the 3rd day. Is this your experience?

Erica, I’ve been told by my nutritionists that calcium citrate is better absorbed and that calcium needs to be taken without any vitamin C being taken (so any in a multivitamin is wasted) and is better used at bedtime from my research. Also need to take 1/2 as much vitamin K as you do calcium or you are leaving the calcium free floating in your blood to form calcifications, it will not strengthen bones without Vitamin D, K, and magnesium all present at the same time. 🙋🏻
