Day 27, lost another 1.5 pounds (48 to go), and I've *finally* started to do some exercise -- 35 min./6.4 mi./158 cal. on a recumbent bicycle.

The FS calculation for "slow" bicycling at my weight (>350 cal expended) doesn't account for inconsistent speed and the recumbent posture, I guess, so I did a "custom" exerdise reading based on the club machine readout.

I've been paying for a monthly membership to Anytime Fitness, five minutes from home, but got discouraged last August when the semi-pro trainer I was beginning to work with quit to put more time into his "real" job. He was great -- middle-aged, not the "perky cheerleader" type who, IMHO, doesn't "get" 60+ arthritic joints and a sedentary (and I do mean "sedated") lifestyle.

When I feel "virtuous," I have more emotional strength to stay the course on my eating program, and exercise makes me feel like a VIRTUOSA!
