baacs's Journal, 15 November 2011

I've been thinking today. I'm not keen on setting myself goals which are defined by a date as I think that as long as I am on the right track it doesn't matter if it takes me a week, a month, a year or a decade. I will get there when I get there.

However, I do have a number of goals that I want to (and will) achieve. These are listed below in the order I want to achieve them...

1) To be in the 170's. Not too long to go for this one.

2) To be in the 160's.

3) To have a bmi which is just "overweight" and not "obese". This means I need to be 158.5lbs. I'm at 183.2lbs right now, so that means I have 25lbs to go.

4) To be less than 150lbs. Instead of always pressing the "up" button on the treadmill when entering my weight, I want to press "down".

5) To have a bmi which is "normal". I will achieve this when I get to 132lbs. I have a long way to go, but I will get there.

6) Ultimately, I want to be 126lbs or a little less. Not only that, but I also want to be "healthy". I do not just want to be thin, I want to be energetic, toned, capable of running/swimming/cycling x number of miles and so many more things which go hand in hand with being healthy and fit.

Great goals!

Very sensible goals. I never set myself time targets either. I seem to be losing one lb per week but I would be very frustrated if I didn't make my goal. Plateaus are part of this, you never knw when you hit one. Have you planned some rewards for when you reach your goals?
