ChicaLean's Journal, 22 February 2014

I wonder about my home scale. The accuracy is questionable and I just googled the brand and someone was discussing how their scale was reading 15lbs to 20lbs inaccurate. I would pass out if that happened (weight gain or loss). Tomorrow I have to brush off the old goal planning, experimenting and implementing phase. I have not had a change in weight for 18 days. That’s not working for me. Some days my phase 1 goal pants fit comfortably and then some days I am painfully reminded I am in between two pant sizes. I just have not figured out the science of how my body functions. I sometimes lose weight unexpectedly and then when I make an effort I see no significant change. It will be interesting to see what the daily walks and jogs will do. I am investing in some new running shoes as I am now on my way to becoming active. So joint protection is a must and something to better read my calorie loss. I only had three work interruptions today. So the rest of the day and hopefully Sunday is for me. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Hey, hey, Chica!!! I'm sorry to hear you're getting down by the scale. I don't blame you... despite our hardest work, it sometimes just won't budge. Keep cranking!!! You've got this. And if you really think your scale may be wrong, try checking your weight on someone else's. Maybe your workout club?

Thanks Rob, I'm going to see what this whole exercise thing is about and weigh-in again over the next few weeks. If there is no budge trying a new scale and a new plan for certain is needed.

I think upping your exercise sounds like a good plan to get that scale moving again, plus its so good for you & makes you feel good… so win, win, win! Enjoy your weekend too, my friend, and "me" time! xoxox

I agree with the comments above & I love exercise too,it *is* good for you, like RUHU says. Can't wait for my knee to quit hurting so I can get back at it! But must admit that this "100" that I am checking out/doing has put me down almost 5 lbs in 5 days without exercise & I aint complaining! :D

Put an object (like a couple of hand weights) you know the weigh of on your scale to gauge how accurate it is. And the exercise will help, but it sometimes takes a couple of weeks to see a difference on the scale. You will see a difference in your clothes pretty quickly though.

Thanks Ruhu. Next week will be a true test for sure. After two days of the treadmill I already have to watch the knees and rediscovered that I am a little clumsy. I am reminding myself that I am not the most active person so I need to pace myself. But I am still excited.

Thanks Suzi161 I will try that with the scale I have know to see if the scale fluctuates accurately. I think find a 3lb one around here.

TIC, that's awesome progress. I can't wait to see your continued results. My knees feel different. Not hurting or aching just yet but definitely a warning for me to be mindful that I am being active and being active with more weight and impact on my joints.

Yes. I helped hubby move a corner aquarium from the van to the porch & just the weight of it I felt in my injured knee. I have never felt that before...& once it's better I don't ever want to feel it again! :D
