The last time I went on a trip, in April, I gained 11 pounds. This trip was such a victory, not to have gained an ounce over my long weekend trip to Buffalo! And my feet haven't swelled up!

The friends I stayed with were completely supportive of my eating choices, which really helped. I was able to fast at least 14 hours each day and ate fatty meat and fish, but no carbos, at dinner. I indulged in a few Buffalo" treats, but really limited the damage.

Over the weekend, I began reading "The Complete Guide to Fasting" by practicing nephrologist and founder of the Intensive Dietary Managment Center in Toronto, Ontario, Jason Fung, M.D.

In particular, the documented impact on long-term insulin resistance and reversing T2 diabetes to the point of eliminating all medications is important to me. I'm currently engaged in daily 24-hour fasts, dinner to dinner (basically one meal a day -- OMAD), but I plan to increase it to 48-to-96-hour (2-4 day) fasts each week. I like the simplicity of it. (Adefwebserver, I'm sure you have some insight!)
223.0 lb Lost so far: 62.0 lb.    Still to go: 55.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

That was great will power! I'm a Buffalonian transplant to FL and let me tell you the Food in Buffalo is amazing. I'd kill for some hometown food. lol.

When I first started limiting processed carbs and decreasing meal & frequency I'd have the occasional low blood sugar drop but that's beginning to level off. I 'sort of' IF - usually nearly 12 hours with water only (sleeping or trying to of course) and then just coffee with whipping cream from 10am to 2-3pm.

Miraculum- I"m working my way into longer fasting. Most days I have only black coffee until mid-day, then keto lunch and dinner, aiming for a 6-8 hour feeding window. Today 5 hour window. The more disciplined I am, the better it works! I stalled out over the weekend eating a meal that wasn't keto, but now back on track. I send encouragement to you!

Congratulations on your victory over eating excessively in Buffalo. Wouldn't it be wonderful to be able to get off medication for T2 diabetes. That extra insulin adds weight to you plus doesn't solve the problem, but only treats the symptoms. I'm so impressed with your currant 24 hour fasts, but even more so that you are planning to go 48 to 96 hours. I've heard the hunger reduces after a day or 2. I wish you the best. The autophagy of fasting is already working for you, and will be so much more with the longer fast. I'll be rooting for you.
