I so easily surrender to temptation. It doesn't take much, and them I'm "off to the races," shopping for pints of ice cream and bags of candy. Just embarrassing.

Last year, some folks raised an "Egg Challenge," eating nothing but eggs and butter for several days. When I was doing a different plan last year, there was a similar strategy to break the cycle of "carb-OH!-nation" (a term original with me).

So, I've hard-boiled half a dozen eggs and will be eating only protein, fat, and minimal carbs (almonds, as my snack) from Thursday through Monday.

Next Tuesday, the 31st, my husband and I are leaving on a 10-day driving vacation to PA and NY to visit friends and family. There will be multiple stops, a few nights in hotels when we're not staying with family, and a big 50th anniversary party at the Saratoga Racetrack. The important thing is to have a plan.

I'm packing the back seat with one cooler of bottled water and a "refrigerator bag" with hard-boiled eggs, sliced roast beef, and (my new favorite) frozen single-servings of home-cooked teriaki-marinated chicken breast. I'll be able to cook at my brother-in-law's house and restock during the trip.

Between the food, water, and my husband's golf clubs, I won't be able to take clothing but, hey... Gotta make sacrifices for my "art"! LOL!
215.0 lb Lost so far: 70.0 lb.    Still to go: 47.0 lb.    Diet followed poorly.

That is great that you have it all planned out to stick to your WOE for your vacation. I'm going on a cruise in January and I have no intention of worrying about WOE while I am in Mexico. There is fried ice cream down there calling my name. LOL As soon as I get home I'll get back on track. Have a wonderful trip!

Enjoy the trip! If you have no room for clothes, its a good reason to go clothes shopping while there! :-)

I took my preteen niece on a cruise (out of Florida) with me years ago. Just trying to keep up with her caused me to lose 9 lbs that week so my secret to not gaining on a cruise is take a kid with you and do everything they do.

Got to be careful not to slide down that slippery slope. Don't know how you are with avocado, one of my favorites that I keep a stash of if I'm feeling hangry. String cheese and deli pepperoni are also good to have around.

Go and have a good time. Life is short and family and friends are not promised to be there next year. Just do everything in small amounts and you will succeed. You have been an encouraging FS contributor. I'll look forward to your post during your trip. Take care and bless you.
