What do you love to do most? What are your hobbies? Do you volunteer? Do you have a pet? The reason you need to keep yourself healthy (which means keeping up your body weight) is to interact with the world. If you've closed off from everything, it won't matter what your body looks like or if you're even healthy. However, if you know you have to walk a dog, or show up to pack food boxes for the needy, or knit another prayer shawl for someone going through pain, or express yourself physically through art/music/writing, then THAT'S why you have to love yourself. If you're struggling with that, I encourage you to volunteer somewhere: a pet shelter, a nursing home, whatever. Love the people or pets you're working with. Let them come to depend on you. Feel needed and wanted. Then you'll start feeling good about yourself. You'll have a reason to get up in the morning and you'll need the energy you get from food to make it through the day. Start slow if you have to. Pick up a piece of trash that you didn't drop and dispose of it. It took energy to do that and you had to eat to get that energy. You can do this! Feel free to private message me if any of this resonated and you just want to chat.

Good advice, I might like to add try some “me time”. Something personal, a honest to God bubble bath for example or meditation. I have an app called Insight Timer on my phone. I’ve had it for years and used the timer on it but never really explored the other capabilities on it. There are actually lots of different meditation programs that change daily! From beautiful soothing music just to listen to, to guided meditations, inspirational lectures. It’s great. You have friends here too! Reaching out or just lurking is all it takes. And finally, talk to your Doctor. He or she is your best source for medical advice. 😍
