Back from my weekend workshop down in Tucson and I'm down 2 lbs since Saturday. I didn't exercise/low activity 4 days in a row and I had a fabulous 4 course meal at the best vegan restaurant in the State (including dessert) on Saturday night. On Sunday I had my own food for breakfast, a big salad with siracha baked tofu, roasted veggies, hummus, and chickpea "tuna" salad for lunch and then I waddled over to the Cashew Cow-amazing vegan ice cream made from cashews. I had not one but 2 scoops of their incredible stuff. For dinner I had Ethiopian food and couldn't choose 3 of the veggie dishes so I added a 4th stew to my plate and had 2 glasses of wine. Woo Hoo! Usually when I got to Tucson I gain weight or occasionally stay the same but 2 lbs down? Well, I DID do intermittent fasting and the cold therapy as recommended by Ray Cronise (he's such a genius). I'm going to keep up with this little experiment until the end of January. Obviously there won't be all that food gorging since that trip and the eating that ensued was what Ray calls an "R&A" (rare and acceptable) occasion. I can't wait to see the weight fall off.

I wish we had more vegan places here....I might go and eat out more. Since even the smell of meat is making me sick now, I am not a fan of going to a 'normal' Restaurant. Your option sound delish :) . Not had cashew ice cream yet. I make nice cream from bananas. But I make my own Sheese from cashews :)

Hey Schmetterlinge34. There are some pretty great places in Tucson. I live in Phoenix and we have a few good vegan places, too but nothing like the Cashew Cow. The owner says people are constantly trying to get her to make it a franchise. I hope she doesn't because I would be going there too often. Right now it's a 2 hour drive away so I get to eat there a couple of times a year. I'm experimenting with different foods now-doing a chia seed oatmeal in the morning or tofu scramble on weekends. Lots of salads for lunches and my husband is working on healthy things for us for dinner. The last time I was in the South of England there wasn't too much in the way of vegan choices as I recall. I wasn't dairy free when I went there in 2010. If I had been it would've been a challenge to say the least.

Its getting better all the time Selby. London, Brighton or Bristol are the places to go. I am experimenting as well in the moment. Yesterday I had Khorasan wheat for breakfast and this morning I tried buckwheat. Never tried to scramble tofu yet but then again I was never a fan of scrambled eggs either. Great that you have the hubby on board. My other half is still an omnivore but doesn't object to my vegan meals as long as they are tasty :)
