I am conflicted. Went to the doctor this week and was told I am not eating enough and that is slowing down my weight loss because it is messing with my metabolism. I want to continue with the Beast Mode 3.0, but I can't get more calories in with just one meal. Also he wants my protein increased from 30 a day to 50 or 60. So I added a second meal the last part of this week and my loss for the week is smaller than ever. I welcome any and all opinions on this dilemma!

You had WLS, correct? I think you should probably go with the recommendations of your physician in this case.

i agree with Arabella66. I know i sometimes want to try some of the meal plan tips and tricks i see out here, but i know i have to stick with what the Clinic is telling me. I've seen the results of what can happen if i don't personally. I have family members who went off and did their on thing while still in treatment and it didn't turn out so well. Maybe after you've reached goals your Drs have set then you can go back to Beast Mode 3.0 (hope i got that right). Blessings.

I just got a call for my first appointment at the bariatric clinic beginning of Dec. I am nervous today and excited. I would imagine they see a lot of patients and a lot of cases and must know mostly what works.....however, I feel your pain and confusion about all this and the slowing weight loss. I do know from reading articles that under eating can really slow the metabolism and it takes some time to get it revved up again. Maybe what your doctor said will work eventually???? hang in there.

Remember also that slower weight loss might be better for your skin.

Pure Protein shakes have 30g of carbs. I use one of those or Sunshine Protein powder. It help me get the protein without the calories. I started yesterday paring down so I can do the OMAD plan - One Meal A Day (one plate filled with whatever I want, one calorie filled beverage, and eating it within one hour of starting) I will have a 4 hour window to eat my meal. Picking the time for that window is the problem right now. Hope you feel better.

I find myself in the same boat, without the surgery. LCHF has reduced my appetite so much that I rarely want food. Now, from what I've studied, if you're following LCHF, that's a good thing. Eat to hunger, drink to thirst. If you're not hungry, the calories are coming from body fat. If you're not following LCHF, then the very low calories will mess with your metabolism. It will lower your BMR, and make it harder to lose/maintain in the future.

Listen to your body. It knows when you need to eat. If you eat when you are not hungry, you will sabotage your weight loss - I KNOW!

Personally I would go with what my doctor recommends. At my visit last month mine told me that I was sabotaging myself. Have taken what she said to heart and am now back on track. Look at where you are in your plan and decide what has been working for you. You have this...and I'm here to support you 100%.

Protein is really important for keeping and building your muscles. You are doing a great job - but listening to medical advice reallly matters.

I try to do 65 -70 of fat 30-35 protein 5 carbs And if I stick to that and stay under 1400 calories it works extremely well.
