keeping the faith, thank God that i have thick hair; but it seems that there is a lot of hair on the bathroom floor and in the bath tub. i take my vitamins . any comments/ suggestions

Have you had your thyroid checked? I'm hypothyroid and when it's "off" I notice a lot more hair loss. Either way I lose a lot but it's more controlled when my levels are consistent.

i've been on thyroid since my first son was born 45years ago . and have my levels checked regularly

The weight loss in general can cause a hair loss.
