Woooohoooooo! Back in ONEderland! I hope my visit lasts longer than it did last time I was here :). I am breaking my fast today so I decided I had better weigh myself before I add food this evening, the loss would have shown more if I had weighed first thing this morning, but I did not so 195 is my weight showing with three cups of coffee and two 20oz bottles of water already ingested. But no matter! I am still very pleased with the results! I will miss my hyper alertness and euphoria when I eat, but I know it will come back next month when I do this again. Now we will go back to 23:1 IF and get this show on the road! Ya'll have a great day!

Lady, we are doing the liver and onions tonight also :) you kicked off a craving!

Debra -- You did it! Awesome work and result. Weighing after all that liquid will keep your bounce back minimal. You are inspiring. I want to do it too. Maybe when you do it in a month I'll join you. I'm a little nervous about trying it during the heat while I'm teaching summer session in my 5 gardens. Right now the Beast Mode is working great for me. One step at a time. Kudos to you, not just for this, but for your whole journey!

Nice job! I didn't make it to my seven day fasted goal, but I've only ate twice in the last week. Feeling awesome with it, and keeping my mind busy and my hands occupied have gone a long way to making it easy.

Thanks you guys! Phil, I was going to try for 7 but today is my only day off and if I am going to eat next week I need to get my prep cooking done today, sitting here in the house with the good smells of cooking going on would be too much like torture so I am ending the fast today. I guess to get to a 7 day fast I will have to start on a Sunday evening so I can break my fast on Sunday....since it is my cooking day.

Awesome job! You just went 5 days without eating...and you feel good. The naysayers can go suck an egg. LOL I'll be joining you and Lady on the next new moon.

Awesome loss, Debra!

Thanks so much for the support you guys! @Sarah1950 I don't really look at it as going for an extended amount of time fasting. It's a one day at a time thing. I start off with putting my normal time to eat off for a few more hours...then it's bed time and I don't eat breakfast or lunch, then I put off eating again for a few more hours...then it's bedtime again.....one day at a time.

@ MsK and Lady: So what's with the new moon?

Way to go, Debra!!!

@Erika, in folklore, the new moon is a time of releasing things, of contemplation and renewal. Fasting during the new moon is supposed to help release the toxins and the weight more easily.

Thanks, MsK. In biodynamic agriculture seeds swell and germinate from the new moon to the full moon, so releasing as well. Related to tides and planetary pulls. But up to the new moon, it's more of a condensing pull.

Well, I went back to the internet and I did it wrong. The best days to fast are eleven days PRIOR to the new moon or full moon, OR directly on the new moon or full moon (for the reasons mskestrela stated). I picked the new moon just to schedule a starting date. I am going to keep the ones I have scheduled as they are, then do it the other way and see if there is any difference. @Deb, you started this liver thing! I am eating more tomorrow. Hubby won't touch it. More for meeeee 😆

It's funny how we get so used to breading things and making gravy over them and we think we can't eat them any other way....I actually like the naked liver better, I also like naked hot wings better than I do breaded ones, pork chops exactly the same, they taste much better to me without the breading......who knew!! Since I like the wings that way, the next time I decide to fry chicken, I'm doing them naked! I have deep fried foods very rarely but I switched my canola oil to lard in the deep fryer and I may try it next week.
