Ginsin's Journal, 25 April 2016

So far, so good. Has motivated me to try out a gym and do 30 mins at least on recumbent bike. I did do 30 min on treadmill (not bad). Yesterday got on a spin bike and thought my knee (torn meniscus) was going to snap, could not use. So many of the things I liked doing years ago, not happening. Elliptical is so not happening either. Oh well, maybe I can do surgery this year (after 5-6 yrs with it, my good knee is bad too).

Resistance training with some weights may help, too. Cardio alone is over done IMO.

Thanks HCB, I have been doing some arm work (not as much as I should be)--Legs only hip abductor since almost all other weight on torn knee is out. Thanks carmen1098--that's pretty much where I am at.

carmen1098-- Like your bio (My bio fluctuates travelling on my mood)---I know that all too well. I think mine fluctuates during the day depending on sunshine or no sunshine. Should be excited to have lost 1.6 in the past week, but just got back from gym and I'm in an evil mood---I forget I am NOT 25 or 35 and weight 90 lbs more than I did when I last did aerobics. Foot/ankle fractures don't help. I'll snap out of it.

Take it easy so you do not get injured. When I started, all I did was brisk walk around the neighborhood and then some low impact Jillian Michael videos. I lost weight - mostly food was the key.

I can relate to your knee issue. I tore my left meniscus at work and they took great care of it, but wouldn't do anything about the stress on the right knee. Said it wasn't related. That was ridiculous because if I hadn't hurt the left knee the right one wouldn't have gone bad lol. Bikes didn't work for me either, but I did try an elliptical and the jury is still out on that. Good luck with your program.

Ginsin - your knee problem sounds painful. Hang in there and be good to yourself.

Las Vegas Linda, I find the recumbent is really awesome. Since work hinders me on getting there I have been trying to do at least 45 min- an hour every other day. Actually only missed 4 days in 14...not bad...toot toot! :)
