I didn't expect any loss after nearly 1400 kcal yesterday. Whew!! it is so discouraging when there is a gain in spite of all the work.

losing 1.4 lb a week

1400 calories a day isn't very much and most people should lose a pound or two a week eating that caloric amount. Our bodies naturally burn a lot more than that day to day (depending on age, sex, etc.). Remember gains don't always have to be just about calories. Sodium, sore muscles from exercise, medicines, sickness and many other factors can cause bloat and mask out losses. Consistency is key. Stay on plan whether the scale goes up or down. It usually evens out in the end.
