WooooHoooooo! WTH??? I have no idea but I'm taking it!! We are getting our act together at the PO and have a system that is getting us out of there a bit earlier than 11 AM, which is great, especially as today is break fast day and I needed to EAT!!! I have had a great loss this week. No strength training resistance bands workouts, but 3 to 4 hours extra per day of lifting, scanning and throwing packages, no day so far less than 1100 packages! Trotting across the PO hauling multiple 2foot trays of letter mail and tubs of flats...magazines, newspapers, etc. It's really a high intensity workout combined with strength training as many of the packages are really heavy, so I am calling it full compliance with our Just Lift challenge! We have to step lively to get the mail distributed to the carriers so they can sort and load the vehicles and get out to the street early as possible. Right now they are spending the first couple of hours just delivering packages, then returning, loading the mail and head out for the regular delivery routes. This reduces vehicle overload with packages and having to do multiple trips back to the PO to reload, so the other clerk and I divvied up the work-load according to the areas we are strongest in. The DSS (package scanning system) tells me what route to throw the package to so I don't have to keep checking the schemes as I don't know all of the different addresses and which route they go to, so the other clerk has been there a few years and he can quickly sort letters and flats to the proper routes, so he takes care of that while I do the packages. Then we double team the PO Box mail and packages while the PM works the window for the first hour of business. It's working great so far!! As far as my outstanding loss this week....it could be the extra work, it could have been the addition of beans...LOL TMI 😂 but they made for a great colon cleanse! I'm doing the happy dance today!!! 4 more days to Christmas!!! We are kicked into high gear!!! Post Master made noises about another catered Thank you meal for Friday, I requested some type of egg n meat combination as an addition to the fruit and pastries she generally provides, it was seconded by a couple of carriers also, so she said she would see what she could do! That about covers my week so far, ya'll have a fantastic day...I gotta eat!

Loved hearing about how the postal system works. A close friend of mine ran our local little post office before it closed.

I'm the only employee in my little PO Morticia and they had considered closing it, instead they switched it to a 4 hour RMPO so it's only open 4 hours a day on weekdays and 2 hours on Saturday. I work there six days a week, it's really fun sharing the work with others for a change. This time around I am not in charge of anything.....thank goodness! That is just too stressful, I much prefer being one of the grunts! I guess teamwork has it's rewards, these guys crack me up with the jokes, and comments that are made while we work. I think our DSS machine has a crush on the carrier for Route 2, she sounds like a robot voice when calling out the other routes, but when she says Route 2 she practically purrs. 🤣🤣🤣 we have a good time with that little quirk!

Thank you for the glimpse behind our mail delivery. It's a huge amount of work, especially at this time of year.

Thanks guys for the support! I love my job, but some days it's a thankless one, I spent my afternoon in my PO tracking down packages that were dumped into the postal mail stream by UPS, my customers don't have mailboxes at their homes, so the Post Office does not deliver mail to them, because they have no mailbox. So when they know UPS is delivering the package, they put their street address on it...UPS does not have the issue of requiring a mailbox for delivery, but during peak season, they fill up their trucks then take the excess packages and drop them at the post office for last mile delivery. It's called SurePost....so UPS does not drop them at the local post offices till about 1 or 2 pm, so they get scanned in for next day delivery. When the carrier finds a package for an address he/she does not deliver to, they throw it back to the clerk for either forwarding or return to sender. My customers packages are being sent back due to No mail receptacle. It's crazy, they don't check with me first before they send them back. It's not the customer's fault, they did not choose to have their UPS packages delivered by USPS, I can't understand why we are punishing our PO Box customers by sending back their packages that SHOULD have been delivered to their homes by UPS. I currently have 40 packages that are enroute back to the seller and MY customers are NOT HAPPY!! I apologised to folks ALL DAY, and there is nothing I can do about it. It's Postal Policy. When things arrive at my PO with a street address on it and I know the person who it's addressed to has a PO Box, I deliver it to the PO Box, it seems wrong to me not to. They are not mad at me, but they are very upset with the Postal Service and many of them were counting on these gifts for Christmas day. No way they will get back here by Christmas! So sad!

Sorry, rant over! It's frustrating dealing with one size fits all policies that I know were implemented for a reason, I like to keep my customers happy and, well, that particular policy this time of year does not sit well with them. I'm still amazed and pleased with my weight loss this week and I'm not going to let these professional aggravations steal my joy!

Woooohoooo!!!! 💃💃 Dancing with you, sis!!! JUST LIFT! will definitely accept your lifting for the challenge, it is after all "whatever you have available & in any manner you choose". Packages seem like a perfect fit to me! Thank you for being so great at your job and truly caring about your customers! Working with the public is sometimes a rough job. It seems like when there is something to complain about complaints always get through, but praise for doing a good job rarely does. I always keep that in mind and give praise for people like you! There is a young fellow who works at my gym who is always extra nice, helpful, and is ALWAYS cleaning (while the others, not so much). I was there a couple of months ago when the owner made an appearance. I made it a point to take a break from my workout to go to the owner & give him praise (while just keeping my mouth shut about the others...lol). The fella I was talking about was standing there as I began talking as I asked him if that was the owner before I began speaking. You should have seen the nervousness cross his face as he wrang the bottom of his shirt with his hands...lol. I have him MUCH praise! He's my buddy! Love that lil fella!

There are always those dedicated, yet unnoticed and unacknowledged people Zen....they are everywhere and we don't realize how dedicated they are....the waitress in the diner where you have lunch....she is there every single time you come in, he/she is always cheerful, never screws up your order and keeps your coffee/drinks full. The cashier at the grocery store, you only see her name on her badge, but she is there everytime you come in, quick, helpful, tells you when your milk is leaking and sends for a sealed one to replace it. They always show up, they always give 110% and they are the back-bone of this nation, under-paid and under appreciated. I acknowledge them every chance I get.

So, because we are scattered at the moment, the Thank You Brunch has been put off till after Christmas, so Thursday next week we get appreciation for all of our efforts and it's on my break-fast day!!! Wooohoooo! Well, I won't be fasting Monday, that is certain, I may skip it all together next week. I get to cook for Christmas 😁 due to it being on a Monday! I'm not going crazy, but we shall have Ham and sweet potatoes, maybe a green bean casserole!

See, right there...it says I'm not going crazy.....that was the misstatement of the year!!! What was I thinking?????

I didn't even see that comment until now...lol. You were thinking it was time to celebrate. ...and it was. Now, it's time for us to get back to business, sis! You've got this! You know the ropes, OG!

LOL, well two days of a protein and sardine fast....today I am fasting. I feel like I can do it today, crazed hunger and sugar craving is down to manageable and I got a .2 on my ketones. So we try again, for just 36 hours.

Nice, Deb! I did a sort of fast yesterday for 22 hours, I did have a tbs of coconut oil in my last coffee and some lemon water. I ended it with about a lb of steak, a small sweet potato, and a pomegranate.
