Hello. I read your bio. Glad you get to retire soon. I have 5 years left to teach before reaching full retirement. I wanted to share that my health problems went away with weight loss. I gave MYSELF type 2 diabetes from poor food/drink choices. After losing 53 pounds, my A1c is back to normal 5.5 and I’ve reversed the symptoms. No meds (glipizide) after 6 months into dropping sugar and high starchy foods. I eat mostly fresh food (a few processed but not nearly like I used to!). High protein, high fat, low carb. A lot of homemade cooking esp my meats. Also, eating at a small deficit helped. I would not go under 1600 calories I did 1750 initially. It’ll take months, but it’s safer! Now I’m in maintenance and can eat more (up to 2200 calories daily) due to strength training and gaining back my MUSCLE! I also take many walks. The best and easiest cardio for older women, like me. I’m 55. I’d recommend a food scale, plus, this app. Takes the guess work out of how many calories a person actually eats. I was shocked to learn how many calories I’d been consuming in the past 😳 You’ll be amazed at how good you start to feel after weight loss. It’s not how you look, but the PRIZE is how you FEEL!! Good luck to you!
