Good Morning FS Warriors! YAY!!!!! Another good drop this week! It's been raining here since 6pm last night and we needed it badly, we have not had any significant rain here since Tropical Storm Idalia, this is great because we got the seed into the pastures this week and the rain has arrived in a perfect manner and with perfect timing. It's just a steady drizzle, no heavy pounding rain to wash away the seeds. A gentle nurturing rain. I am now right at the weight I was when I came down with Covid, blessings abound, God is good! Yesterday morning I had to report to Twin City to do my quarterly drawer count and when I arrived there was a fabulous spread of food. Our Postmaster had catered a thank you breakfast for us. I collected a few plates of berries and melons to take home. I did not mention my fast. I skipped over the pastries completely. I simply said I had already eaten that morning and I was full. I got a big hug and some tears and I was told repeatedly that I had done a great job. She also showed me where she had paid me as a level 1 supervisor for my hours that I put in at the Twin City Post office, which just about doubled my already generous hourly pay. I felt very appreciated, but I told her I never wanted to do that again! So we had a conversation about my career with the Postal Service. I explained my previous job as an office manager supervising 130 employees that required a commute of 140 miles round trip and 10 hours per day and how I did it for 25 years and how happy I was with a job that was two miles from home and I was only responsible for my own performance and I did not want any more than that. She was satisfied that I was not being overlooked or feeling isolated or ignored in my tiny Post Office. I assured her that it was my intention to be a career mushroom and to take refuge in my small but busy Post Office that only requires 4.33 hours per day and 2.5 on Saturday and that I felt loved and appreciated by my customers as well as the Postal Service and my co-workers in my sister Post offices as they call and ask for help with things they have never done in a manual office. We have six small manuel offices in this area and as most clerks that go into one are simply using it as a stepping stone to somewhere else, they change clerks rather frequently, as I have an unheard of 10 years experience in a manual office, I train the new clerks via telephone support, even the Post Masters call me when they are doing drawer counts to make sure they are entering it correctly since it's only an annual thing and it works off a completely different platform from their computerized RSS cash systems. So I have a niche for myself here. 😁

Thanks for the support guys! Sara, I lost 5 pounds the week I had active covid, then gained 26 pounds in the 4 weeks that followed covid, now I have returned to my pre-covid weight in about 4 weeks. I'm not back to my lowest weight yet, but I have at least reacquired the ground I lost before I got sick.

Hey Debra so glad to see your post! Was talking about you recently with hubs and saying i couldnt wait to see your progress pics. Sounds like you have figured out a wonderful work/home life balance for this part of your life. You get the social aspect and well being feeling thru your job without the overwhelming stress at a bigger post office. Im truly happy for you. Life is so short and it would be a different world if we could all figure out how to re-configure our work/life balance out to actually enjoy life more. Take care my friend.

@YOH Pics are not something that hubby and I do a lot of both of us have issues with shaky hands while trying to focus and push the button and everything we do seems to come out crazy blurred. I can take pictures of the yard by bracing the phone on the porch rail and just tilting it till I capture what I am aiming at. My daughter is supposed to visit at Christmas, she takes pictures of everything, so I may get some then! I was contemplating getting one of those tripods that have the little remote camera button, but I have not gotten around to ordering one yet. My terrible picture taking skills is one of the reasons I don't sell my jewelry and art online. To get decent pictures of my stuff to post on Etsy, I would have to have a professional come in and take photos which would drive up the prices for more than the items are worth. I can't fathom how I can be so creative and hand make such pretty stuff, but can't take a decent picture! It's a skill that I am very jelly of here where folks post such fabulous pictures of stuff.

Debra do you have android or apple? Apple i think you can open the camera set it up on a table or something and then say “hey siri take picture”. Android i think has a pen that you can do essentially the same thing by clicking the pen. If you have that type of phone.

I have an android that is about 3 years old, I hate change so I have not upgraded my poor obsolete 4g. I am also cheap and I will never pay for an iphone, I can't justify spending that kind of money on a communication device. I also don't buy shoes that cost over 20.00 bucks......now days it looks like I'm going to have to go barefoot everywhere! 🤣🤣🤣
