I really didn't get a cheat day this weekend. I wanted to enjoy a gluten free pizza from Uncle Maddio's; however, I found out that Sunday was the first and not today (Monday). That threw my weigh-in schedule off, so all I treated myself to was a cup of that tiramisu gelato that I had last week.

I think that was a bad idea. I did have a great weigh-in Sunday morning, but I could barely get my bowels to move. Sunday is when I started my Raw Til 4 challenge, and everything that I ate got stuck behind the blockage. I was so uncomfortable all day and night.

Luckily, bananas have a lot of magnesium, so I just took the probiotic last night and was able to go this morning.

So, my first thought on Raw Til 4 is that you spend a heck of a lot of time in prep work. You know I like to do very little prep. I like to keep my cooking process in as few steps as possible. Second, maybe I should have waited until the summer time to start this. I don't like drinking cold smoothies in a cold office. Third, I need a rolling briefcase because toting 4 large mason jars of heavy smoothies (2 for breakfast and 2 for lunch) and additional snacks is going to get old.

Fourth, the smoothies are thinner than I thought they'd be, but I guess I control that with the amount of water I add to them. Fifth, I don't think I bought enough food for the week. I became very anxious at the farmer's market the heavier my cart became. How was I going to pull it onto the bus on the way home. Luckily the first bus driver was really amused by my struggle and didn't mind lowering the wheelchair ramp. The second bus driver is know for her attitude, and I sure got it when I asked her to lower the ramp for me.

I feel just as energized as I did on a regular vegan diet. You're not supposed to let yourself get super hungry on the RT4 diet, but I barely got hungry at all yesterday eating lunch at around 2:30.

Let's see how well I run today. I was able to burst into a sprint Saturday morning and that was a big accomplishment for me. I liked that feeling of barely touching the ground. It felt like flying.

Alright, time to get some hot mint tea and fill up my water bottle. Half a mason jar of breakfast smoothie to go.

Onward...

Good luck with it all! As a vegetarian I rely a lot on frozen veggies during winter. And food prep is not my thing, because my meals are usually spontaneous aka I go to the store and buy what I feel like, then go home and cook. Luckily I have a local organic market at the metro stop where I come home from work, so I always wonder there and get what grabs my attention. I do think you should try and prepare something raw but solid as well, not just the smoothies, like salads or vegetable noodles with sauce for example. If you have the possibility and time of course. Good luck on your quest! Monday is harder, but it passes as any day ;)

Ah yes, @livia89. I haven't gotten my time management down just yet and I really want to bring a zucchini noodle salad or something for a meal. All I could think of last night was, "what is the most portable solution." These vloggers probably don't have to work so, of course, they have time to do all this. Time is going to be my biggest challenge until I figure things out. With day 1 behind me, I don't yet see raw veganism as sustainable for my lifestyle. It is nice to know that I can enjoy a lot more fruit. I guess years of high protein low carb eating has made me afraid to eat fruit.

The attitude of blaming carbs for weight gain led a lot of people to ditch important vitamins and minerals from fruit and medium-carb legumes like beans and chickpeas. I too find it difficult to get in just liquids... Maybe you can try and make a slower transition? It would be easier for your body to adjust, as well for your motivation. Try to introduce them to your menus first, play with the recipes, see what you like more (to figure out what exactly you see yourself as eating all your life) and maybe then add the challenge of raw. As a vegetarian, I don't really support raw movement as it eliminates some veggies and legumes we can only eat cooked, and with that also their nutrients, for nothing more than a challenge. And like you said, I am sure the bloggers are making an income from this, otherwise I don't see the point much. Don't want to insult anyone, just my opinion.

Isn't that the truth. I remember thinking, "but why is fruit so bad" when attempting several different diets over the years. My initial plan was to do this for the whole month of February. Then, I became very confident that I was going to like being raw so much that I said, I'll do Raw Til 4 for 14 days and Fully Raw for the last 14 days. Now, I'm thinking that I'll only commit to Raw Til 4 for 14 days and reassess from there. I am happy that I can have cooked meals after 4pm. I like most of my food cooked anyways.

So, I got on the treadmill and ran today. I really ran as opposed to my strong jog. I don't have the endurance like I used to and had to slow to a walk every few minutes, but it felt good. Unfortunately, I had to use the bathroom 1.6 miles into my 2 mile run LOL. So that was that!

Eating healthy, cutting up veggies and fruits does take it's time but it's worth it.
