NowIunderstand's Journal, 25 October 2014

:)

I've given up coffee for the week and dairy milk. Not so much the coffee I've given up but the coffee with the milk and white sugar.(I don't like the taste of substitutes, and coffee by itself is so, so).

Well, wouldn't you know it, my hot flashes have diminished by 95%. Instead of getting 10 a day, I now got about 1 or none a day. So much, that I forgot about them.

I don't know if it's the coffee, the sugar or the milk, but boy, what a difference!

Which prompts me to go on an elimination diet. I still have very low energy, rash and knee joint pains.

I credit the weight loss with the logging in of calories. Although I hate doing it, I see it's become a necessary evil to attain my goals.

159.1 lb Lost so far: 19.9 lb.    Still to go: 20.1 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

If I am right about this, when your weight history is in the yellow zone, you have lost half of the weight that you want to lose.

Perhaps, but to be completely honest, my weight goal is not really what it should be. I put it high enough so I wouldn't freak out. I think realistically I should be between no more than 135lbs given my stature and bone structure. Nevertheless, I'm crawling to my goal and very happy to be in the 150's range, albeit, just by the skin of my teeth. :) Great Weekend to all!

I think an elimination diet is a great idea! Good luck. I gave up caffeine and my hot flashes are less too. And my anxiety is better. I don't think I realized how much I was drinking. With your rash, it makes me think of sweee2th and her autoimmune problems which have completely disappeared with her healthier diet. Do you know her? She's a great motivator to me.

Congratulations! I've also decreased my coffee consumption - sometimes only one cup a day too lately. Intake and output.. we're like machines aren't we?
