good job finding your maintenance numbers. it's not as easy as most would think. especially with daily fluctuations screwing with you.

Thanks! Yeah it's no joke. It's gonna be fun when I get to working out and recomping more seriously. It feels good to have it sorted out so I can accurately eat back my exercise calories now.

I’m new to calorie counting. That seems high unless you’re exercising a lot? No idea honestly just curious. I’m losing weight at 1600-1800 a day. It would be nice to maintain at more.

Kat25 it's a combination of cold climate plus a lot of time spent outdoors and Ive been weight training. When I was living in a warmer climate I maintained for a while eating closer to 2000-2300 calories. Weight training is great for increasing daily calories because muscle increases your NEAT even though lifting weights doesn't burn as many calories as cardio. I'm 5'8" as well so depending on goal weight that will change. Someone who is shorter would probably have a lower goal weight and a lower TDEE

Lol Yfritz! I'm alive. Things have been interesting. Dealing with family who are diabetic and delusional is no fun but hubby is visiting until Christmas so that's nice. Grandpa got the news from the surgeon that no one would give him a knee operation with his A1C at 10 and he refuses to make the necessary dietary changes. He thinks cutting out the 2-3 sweets he has a week will be enough while he still consumes 3 beers a day. It's exhausting. I'll probably leave after new years. If they won't take care of themselves there's no sense in me being stressed about their state of health.

Many of my patients behave like your granddaddy. Diabetic people could be incredibly stubborn, I think they are tired of being told what to do…😔 Your grandfather must be absolutely sure that he wants this surgery before he changes his eating habit, you know. I’m glad your husband joined you, I was worried about that. Hang in there. Keep us posted❤️
