SPRING CUT - DAY 54
13 Hours Fasted

Day of rest yesterday. Solid 89% shit. Ate ad libitem. Took first hot shower in weeks. Baked up some banana bread. Smelled great, but didn't even really want it when it was done. Came in under 2000k. 11 hours "sleep." After napping most of the day. Down to 67% shit this morning. Should be back to near full powers tomorrow.

Caught a super smart and interesting Afghan neuroscientist couple overnight on the Rich Roll podcast. Drs. Sherzia (?) Anyway they popped up on my feed with the headline how to cure alzheimers in 30 days or some such. Shit got my attention.

Any of you with pre-school children, I strongly encourage you to check these folks out. They have two kids for whom they crafted a radical education experience which involved almost no school and resulted in both kids graduating high school and scoring 90th percentile on their SATs at age 10. And that's the least of it. Their approach focused on inspiring the kids vs. guilting and flogging like the Yale "dragon mom" and so many other "achiever" parents of her ilk.

I am a strong believer in education as the means of raising people up. Parents were both first generation college and grad school. I spared no educational expense on myself or kids. Always aspired to the "best" schools. Here's what I now know, and these parents proved, after hundreds of thousands in tuition. School is garbage. That includes the so called "top" schools, which are, in most cases, dramatically better than most, but exist solely to self perpetuate. That means sending kids to the "top" colleges, which means molding them to a formula rather than inspiring them to self driven excellence. Had I it to do over again, I would never send my kids to school. These dedicated parents offer an object lesson in why and how

Their Alzheimers "cure" is regrettably less impressive. Saturated fat bad. Poverty bad. Western diet bad. Whole food plant based good. Exercise good. K.

Maybe they should have written a book on homeschooling...
