Another night, another longish walk although what's fascinating is that with the last software update, the mileage on my standard route has been reduced by .3 of a mile and after almost a year of not working at all, the VO2 measurement has been knocked down into the upper 20's, which is still good, but it was better before. I do appreciate their suggestion of climb some hills and walk faster to increase. Thanks, I walk near my house, but I'll see if we can order a hill or two from Amazon. Technically, there is a big hill nearby, but the neighborhood is sketchy after dark so that's a no go this time of year.

on to the numbers below. been switching up my food this week. change in weather, working on the freezer dregs, etc. been walking instead of swimming, but not the short walks. daytime steps are way down, not sure why that is. I'm a total creature of habit and I don't see that anything has changed too much. I still do the same stuff at the same times during the day. I am admittedly drinking less water because it's colder. need to pull out the tea infuser and get on with incorporating that habit back in. I cut back a little on breakfast protein and quit adding egg whites to my eggs. might add that back in since it's a low cal protein boost and helps the overall numbers. I've been eating sandwiches the past couple of days, used either PB or PB2 depending on how much time I have to make lunch. I have a ton of chicken at my disposal, but I'm kinda over it right now. I have some salmon defrosting for tonight or tomorrow depending on how much progress it makes. I need to suck it up and go to the store and get something green for my plate. I have apples and other fruit, but I'm miserable without any salad. I do have a box of frozen spinach I guess I could sauté tonight. or I just instacart some groceries.I think I'm actually going to do that. good way to put together a list if nothing else. free flow of consciousness today, had to delete all the work stuff. gets crowded in here sometimes.

what's good, I'm walking fast since no one's out, the entire route is green. what I can work on, walking faster. a challenge because dark sidewalks, restaurants on those sidewalks, and pedestrians on some of the places we go. also, dogs sniff and that's unlikely to change. we'll do better routes in daylight this weekend. I'm going to make sure I swim this weekend as well, so some daily doubles. the cold weather makes the dogs extremely energetic, so not walking them is not an option even though they play all day. that daily obligation is one of the best things I ever did for myself. three baby elephants playing in the living room almost always results in things getting knocked over or broken. fat mass going down a notch, muscle holding. notching back calories, so it will break at some point. pants still fit, numbers will follow. might take it down to a true 1200, meaning I count everything. I don't always count things like ketchup and other mostly inconsequential stuff. easier to do all this stuff before the holidays. are we even having holidays this year???? oh, and I have the coolest thing for my roof this weekend. pics to follow once it's up.
