I started off well yesterday, but slipped on pork and sweets. Only 3 pieces of chocolate candy, but still. And bbq pork is one of those things that triggers hypereating for me. I hate to think I need to completely remove it from my menu, but it may be the only way I can deal with it. Sort of like white rice. Can't even go there any more.

So good to be buddies with you, coco.. I hear you about bbq pork. I love bbq port bun in dim sum places but I try not to touch them anymore. Can't just stop after having one.. Look forward to having wonderful new year with you on this journey. Have a happy & healthy Monday!

LOL @ Lisa. I am coming to your journal to get my coat!
Glad to be new buddies with you, happynow! I've never had dim sum, and perhaps I shouldn't start anytime soon! ;)

Pork in itself is not fattening. It's the drippy gooey sauces that everyone slathers on it. A nice pork loin chop is very low in fat. Keep with the plan Coco. You can do it!

I was just thinking the same thing, Runesinger...the pork is great, but bbq sauces are loaded with sugar. There are billions of BBQ sauce recipes out there, I bet it would be easy enough to either find one lower in sugar/calories or make up your own...Splenda brown sugar is pretty decent. I use it in oatmeal & I bet it would work in bbq sauce too.

BBQ sauce? I didn't even think of how bad that might be, but I'm sure y'all right. It's probably like gravy. I know the cut of pork they use at my favorite bbq place is bound to be pretty fatty -- like pork shoulder. That's why it's so frickin' delish! I know it's gross, but I have always liked fatty meats -- even when I was a kid. That my cholesterol levels are so good is a miracle.
