Just back from an appointment. Hubby & I stopped for a late lunch at our local pub & sat outside on the deck. It's a gorgeous day again...up in the low 80's & sunny 🌞 I had the blackened grouper sandwich done like a rueben with homemade chips. I only ate about a third of the chips.... Hubby finished them off... After he ate his sandwich & fries 😁 It's OK, though cause he's actually been losing weight & could afford the calories.

We talked to our neice & nephew in Canada last night to wish him a happy birthday 🎂 It was kinda sad that he had chosen not to go out for a celebratory dinner out of fear. We both turned 65...I was pretty OK with it but he didn't sound too pleased. He does have some preexisting health conditions so did not want to chance eating in a restaurant. It was good to talk to them though. I am not feeling uncomfortable eating out since the waitstaff are all wearing masks as long as we're not crowded in too close together.

I cooked sirloin steak, black beans & diced tomatoes on chickpea pasta for dinner. It was good but Hubby wasn't impressed with the pasta & I have to agree. It was OK, but I don't know that I'd buy it again. It isn't a savings in calories & we just prefer the taste & texture of real pasta.

Planning a light dinner.... Shrimp & salad I think.

Our neighbors (friends) invited us over for snacks & cocktails by the river tomorrow afternoon. Our other friends that we always had dinner with each week before are joining us. We haven't seen them for awhile so that will be nice. The weather is supposed to be like today.

I got my daughter to download FS when we were together in Savannah. She told me Monday it was too time consuming to try to log everything. She says her doctor recommended foods for her to eat/avoid & not worry about calories. I thought if she could see where she was eating "hidden" calories, it would help. She has always been Itty bitty & able to eat whatever & how much she wanted til the past few years. I see areas she could cut back on when we've been together, but it's hard to tell her. Of course, like me she may have overindulged cause it was vacation. She recognizes that calorie counting has worked for me but she also knows I'm trying to eat healthier foods as well.


141.8 lb Lost so far: 31.0 lb.    Still to go: 6.8 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
