w00t, w00t! End of week 2. I'm halfway to finally being able to eat dark chocolate again.

For those of you that don't know, I joined Sararay's Boot Camp challenge for the month of January and you are not allowed any refined sugars or refined grains. ARGH! It's been a bit of a challenge, and I definitely needed it after all the holiday meals, but I will be glad when it's over. Not just so I can eat a bit o' sugar, but because I've been losing a good amount of weight and I want to see how far I can go inside the limits of this challenge.

I tried a new (and incredibly brutal) workout yesterday. I got a pack of cards and shuffled 'em. Then I pulled the top card and did as many pushups, situps, and squats as the card number was. So, if I pulled a 7, I would do 7 pushups, 7 situps, and 7 squats without rest. Then I would take a rest for 30 seconds before I pulled the next card. I counted aces as ones and I counted face cards as tens. I did this for about 25 minutes until my arms finally gave out on me. I recommend it because you don't get bored too easily since you never know how many reps you're going to have to do.

220.0 lb Lost so far: 45.0 lb.    Still to go: 35.0 lb.    Diet followed 100%.

Haha. Yeah, the no sugar part sucks. But seriously, the challenge rocks. Look how well you're doing! Congrats!

I LOVE that idea of the cards - what a cool way to stop doing those same 8 reps or 12 reps or whatever. VERY inventive! AMAZING LOSS - YOU HIT 220! I can sympathize about the dark chocolate - my challenge for the 3rd week of this new year is to go without sweets of any kind...so far I am eating every bloody piece of fruit I can find just for the sugar rush!!!!

The cards definitely help keep you going. Maybe even too long. My last pushup workout was Thursday and I'm still sore.

You overachiever, you! Hope your muscles give you a break! I was thinking of assigning cards to different kinds of exercise and then doing whatever exercise the card turned up...lots of cool ways to use this - thanks for the idea!
