Second night of running class... COMPLETE!... mostly. Last night was the first "official" run. We were split into groups according to our mile times, and then we went with our coaches to run... or at least we should have. The coach for my group didn't show up. AN OMEN! Alright, maybe not. She was at a surprise birthday party and couldn't come, so instead the head coach over the entire program lead our group (which was pretty cool). I'm really enjoying the class so far, which is weird... enjoying running. Oh, and I have more homework (25 minute run on Saturday).

randomness1) I am the only guy at my job and in my running group, and I just noticed that there's only 1 dude on my FS buddy list. I swim in a ocean of estrogen. Or as Quagmire might say, "Giggity giggity goo!"

randomness2) It takes 46 muscles to frown but only 4 to flip 'em the bird.

randomness3) A hole has been found in the nudist colony wall. The police are looking into it.

randomness4) I watched Jacob's Ladder last night for the first time. Only three letters can describe the experience... WTF!?!

randomness5)
There was a man who entered a local newspaper's pun contest. He sent in ten different puns, in the hope that at least one of the puns would win.

Unfortunately, no pun in ten did.

No pun in ten did. Ahh....why am I laughing at that? I want to eventually enjoy running. Eventually is the key word there. Swimming in an ocean of estrogen. Not a pretty thought! And yay for losing another pound!

Cat, I would definitely recommend a class/group if you want to enjoy running. I trained for a 5K four months ago on my own and every minute of it sucked. When you can run with other people and talk along the way, you don't even realize that you're working out.

Of course that requires you to have enough BREATh to talk /0 LOL I know I am not there yet. Just the little runnign exercize on the Wii Fit about killed me! I hope Cat is not as bad off as me but, yeah. I don't see ME running anytime soon though I am doing LOTS of other things.

LOL I definitely know the feeling. But one of the points of the group is to forcibly slow you down to what the coaches call "conversation pace". Unless you are doing a specific speed workout, they told us that if you can't carry on a conversation (between breaths... or gasps!), then you're running too fast.

Oh, and I forgot to add. We don't run full time. It's a run/walk program. Yesterday my group did 4 min. of running then 1 min. walk until we hit 20 minutes. There are other groups that start at 2 min. of running & 1 min. of walking.

You know you LOVE the estrogen... Great job with the running!!!! I used to love to run - really just turn it lose and run as fast as I could - those endorphins are magic - but bad knees have decided for me that I am on the bench!

Well that doesn't sound HORRIBLE! :)

Sima, we're in the same boat for sure. When Zero suggested a running class I laughed out loud at my desk. It'll definitely be awhile before I'm running!

You never know. So far we're only "running" at a blistering pace of 4 mph. :) But I'm not sayin' that running is what everyone needs to do, just that a class helps it not suck.
