Yesterday, I had a debate with myself. Should I take a break from trying to lose & go on maintenance for a month or 2? It gets frustrating to be within a few pounds of goal and just keep going up & down a few ounces or lbs. every day. Should I just tell myself "Try to stay within this range" and stop actively trying to lose? But, if this is a lifestyle change and not a diet, what would be the difference? Am I suddenly going to start ordering fries with everything and eating big bowls of chips? Am I going to have huge servings of pasta? Realistically, I don't want to do that.
What I can do is try not to focus so much on whether I've lost more weight. Afterall, I can now fit into all the clothes in my closet & lots of stuff is too big. I have not been parking my butt on the sofa for hours in the afternoon to watch TV. At 5:00 every afternoon I get up & go for a walk. If the weather is decent, my mind says park further from the entrance to the store. If Hubby has another glass of wine with dinner, I don't automatically say pour me one, too.
So if I need to make changes maybe they should be to add more activities to my day and just focus on being healthy and happy....whatever my weight may be today.
147.8 lb Lost so far: 25.0 lb.    Still to go: 12.8 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

OMG Sherrye, I just read this last post. After reading your post, I opened your profile picture and saw an ear to ear grin on hubby's face. He knows! He is married to a beautiful woman. Stick to your new lifestyle, your goal is in your grasp. So, I can only add, are you being 'honest' with your portions??? Sometimes I think, hmmmm....was that really a 4oz steak or more like a 1/2 lb cut? Did I count the butter, or extra cheese,or chocolate. I'm hardly the one to point fingers ('cause sometimes my 4oz glass of Zin is more like 8 oz). I too am trying to regain my figure, but it ain't easy, too many temptation. Keep to faith.

I'm pretty honest. I have a kitchen scale, measuring cups & spoons that get a workout every day 😊 The only time I might be off substantially is if I eat out & estimate the calories incorrectly. I have no plan to give up my new way of eating. Just had thoughts maybe I'd just try to maintain the loss for awhile. Thanks for the sweet complement.
