Diddlee's Journal, 01 June 2019

Well, that bump up speaks loudly to me about how my body react on factory sourced food. Bought meat snacks and had some of that yesterday. The pack says 97% meat.

Reminds me of how I gained weight earlier. Bought factory made sausages with a label that indicated lean meat, but boy, unlike lean meat, they bumped up my weight big time.

All the more reason to further drill up my skills at making these things at home. Made Wiener sausages yesterday, and they turned out great. Today I'll try to make a crispy snack from chicken breasts. The fight is on, home cooking for the win. 👍

It is more likely the sodium in the meat!

Preservatives are murder on the body. That is at least for some of us.

Home cooking always is best for many reasons. I am sure your food is always tasty.

HCB I eat a lot of salt every day. Must be something else. Dunno.

Erquiaga It could be a sensitivity to preservatives, or ingredients that big factories use to make the manufacturing process smoother. Know a big company that supply machinery recommended to use some additive to ease the strain on their machines. Haven't found out what that may be yet. Will try to find out.

They add sugar too to make their products tastey, that along with the fat sends you craving for more and more, so you overeat.

carolynph Yes, see 2% sugar on the pack. Noticed my ankles looks swollen today. It's probably a concentrated chemical that do not need to be declared, due to less than a percent is used. Mystery at this point. Will for sure run with fresh home cooking from here on.

Swollen ankles? Lack of sodium?

srossca I did an experiment with super high salt intake, near 2oz a day, and noticed the ankels got a bit soft looking. The ankels are normal today. Thinking allergic reaction to this new food. Just have to wait for this inflammation to pass I guess.

Glad to hear that the inflammation has decreased...swollen ankles are not fun!!

MSG? I really react to that.
