Day 8 - Hit another bump in the road last night by working unexpectedly late, not making it to the grocery store, and having other tasks take much longer than expected. Trying to put together a meal at 10:30PM is tough when I'm already hangry and tired. By the time I finally got to bed, I wasn't able to sit still and kept getting up to snack. I found the pumpkin bread I'd been avoiding for a week but only had two pieces instead of the lot. Gorgonzola cheese and peanuts helped fill the void, too, in place of ice cream, popcorn, and chips. I didn't feel as good this morning but was relieved when the scale showed I only gained .2 lbs instead of what I was expecting.

This is going to be a long unending journey for me and I'm finally ok with that. This isn't a race to a destination where the reward is that I can binge my heart out for months at a time. I'm a food addict, and I'm finally able to admit this.

Reading the posts by all of you others who are in this predicament has definitely helped me stay focused. I didn't realize how much support I needed until I admitted my addiction.

Every day is a struggle, some days are easier than others, but I don't want to die young and I want to set a good example for my kids. I'm going to keep walking this path for now and maybe forever. No day but today.
308.6 lb Lost so far: 0.4 lb.    Still to go: 103.6 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
