Had a great day today! Hubby grilled chicken, i had a huge salad, an apple, some Halo Top light ice cream and if it sounds like I eat primarily the same things in variations every day, you’re right! Old habits die hard. As I’ve worked my recovery, I’ve explored thousands of foods, noticing their tastes, and how they make me feel. What I enjoyed tasting wasn’t always what I enjoyed feeling after. For years I took heavy duty medication, treating IBS, GERD, you name it. These days, my guts happy and I’m free from taking any stomach meds! Im very low dairy, high lean protein, and mostly veggies (with a couple pieces of fruit for fun). It has taken weeks to get my fruit consumption under control.... it was the last hurdle for me to overcome. Calories are calories, and even though my binging was on apples and melon, it was preventing me from losing. Today, I ate when I was hungry, and every single bite was euphoric. I am so grateful to be at this place with food. Considering returning to the hospital as a speaker for recovery night... but it’s still just a dream, I get very emotional when I think about it. 😢 sheesh another long journal entry. Well, Life is good, I’m settling in with the hubby and a good movie, and I’m definitely done eating for the day and night. My total is under 1300 which is great for me. Shocking how comfortable I feel, not too full and no gassy discomfort. Lots of love and comforting thoughts sent out to each and every one of you, please remember to be kind to yourself.
