Happy Friday.

I think my job is to be a pace car here on FS for others.

I am 38 days away from my bday and I've been so comfortable wearing 34s and 36s waist slacks and jeans for many many months that I think this is why I am not progressing. Losing and keeping 50lbs off make a big difference and still getting compliments (I think if more people told me that I will never see 185 lbs vs complimenting me that could/would do the trick [I am more motivated from being told I can't do something])

Although I am not completely satisfied with the number on the scale, I guess I am happy for now in my skin.

Go team Go!!!!

Ches, my kid sent the below to me, and now I'm paying it forward and sending it to you! SAY I WON'T Tell me that I can't do it. Tell me that I shouldn't even try. Tell me it's impossible. Tell me the risk is too high, the challenge too much, or the feat too tough. Tell me that I won't do it... AND I WILL!

Missed your posts, Ches! I also become motivated when someone says, "You can't!" (I'll post about how I learned a piece of music that way.) That may be why I am handling my diabetes with diet instead of drugs. Other diabetics told me it can't be done, but Dr. Phinney said it could, and I believed him over the mob of naysayers.

Ches If your happy, healthy and looking good, then it sounds like your at goal. People forget about bodyframe.. I am 5'4 but have a large frame, Believe or not 130 makes me look like skin & bones!!! 140 is probably about perfect, But at age 49, I will take 145 for now, that is my immediate goal. My large frame weight they said should be 125-145. Nurse weighed me in at 154 one time and she could not believe I weighed that, She said I was the same weight and height as her and I looked 25 pounds lighter than her

Maine Coon, (I love those cats), my goal weight is 145 because I also have a large frame. My bones are larger than than pants some people my height wear! I am also 5'4" tall.

Churchill: never give up, never give in. Words of wisdom indeed.

Nah, you won't do it Ches, you're just not motivated enough. (Hope that was what you wanted me to say - lol!).

It is important sometimes to park where you are and enjoy the view before you move on...sounds like you are doing that and it will pay off by helping you to never gain those pounds back because you remember how good this weight feels. Just breathe and enjoy for a bit before moving on down. (voice of experience...50 pounds lighter for 5 years and now 57 pounds lighter)

great job setting the pace my friend. it is funny that you mentioned pants size...I was so excited to be back in a 34 inch waist...I actually took a long tine to go and buy new pants because I wasn't sure the weight would stay off this time. thanks for being on here and being a positive role model. I always buckle up and put my head down and push forward. If we have no goal we will meet it every time. Go what you want and don't listen to the those who tell you to smell the roses, you can do that once you make your destination. If you want 34-36s you've meet your destination. I have one size pants, and keep in them. I removed the yo-yo potential from my wardrobe.

You've done good, it's ok to take a breather from the pace you were at. Just don't do like I did and get TOO comfortable. For me that resulted in becoming complacent, so here I am losing lbs again I'd already gotten rid of.

Being happy in your skin is important, and liking what you see in the mirror, that confidence shines on through to the rest of your life and it shows and you feel it. Everyone here who has experience with that knows. (Me! Me!) 🙋🏻 and learning to long term maintain at yhe weight you are at without ballooning back up and jumping pant sizes is HUGELY important to your future health. Belly fat is the worst health risk there is. 🙅🏻‍♀️BUT (you knew it was coming, here’s the kick in the butt! Hopefully it’s gentle enough! LOL) after you have learned to maintain that weight without too much difficulty and bouncing around and pissing off your family too much! 🤪 It’s time to push for your final goal to see if it’s achievable. That’s where I am now. I’ve HAD my well earned rest. Know I can maintain with a few bumps withput totally alienating everyone around me, but now I need to push hard and knuckle down again because otherwise I’ll always feel like I cheated myself and my family of being as healthy as I could be. And I think that’s you too Ches. That is the kind of goal oriented person you are. You may be struggling, but you are strong and determined. 🤷🏻‍♀️You’ve shown a lot more determination than I had! I had to have surgery to really turn this around and prove to myself I was totally serious! LOL 🙋🏻‍♀️So take your break, maintain and get back!

Fifty pounds is nothing to take for granted. ENJOY it. Still there is nothing wrong with a little fine tuning either...

How do we encourage an encourager? Motivate a motivator? I see so much of me in you - and you WILL not disappoint yourself, your family, nor your friends.

Alrighty then. Thanks all for helping me with my journey and the shaping of my health today and for the future. Time to knuckle down and get it get it! If think I inspire you, just wait and see. I will give you something to be inspired by! (said by the man who just wolfed down a pack of emergency Peggy Lawton oatmeal cookies) I got this!

Be happy where you are if you are comfortable, healthy and able to do the things you like to do. Sometimes we pick a number and think that's what we need to reach. But from what I've seen most people who reach their "magic" number usually end up settling in a few pounds above that and are able to maintain a range of 5 or so pounds.
