Day 425
Weight 180.6 (down 1.8 lbs)

Welcome to my furlough Friday!! On the horizon this fine non-working, payday is working taxes, soaking up a little vitamin D, a little bill paying and paper sorting of the home variety, calling the dealership to see when I can get my car in to get it diagnosed (it is mentally ill ... LOL!!), and then later this evening a little dinner with a girlfriend.

I think I posted a very confusing comment over on Info's journal about 'ideal' weight and 'cushions.' Deep down in my soul I have always 'wanted' to weigh 175 lbs. I don't remember a time I ever have. My current fatsecret goal weight is 180. I have come to the conclusion after many months on here that for whatever reason my body easily gains and loses about 10 lbs. So I've adopted a 10 lb range approach to 'ideal' weight. I like the blue line. It makes me feel good. Some day ... maybe ... if I ever see 175 and can stay there for more than a nano-second I may change my goal weight to 175.

BMI calculations indicate a healthy weight range for someone my height is 129 to 174 lbs. At 180 I have a BMI of 25.8, so still considered 'overweight.' I would secretly love to have a range between 170 and 180 be my TOP weight. But ... might it tell me something if for months on end I can't get below 178 ... usually not below 180???

I looked and looked for that article I read about set points and it taking 6 months to a year to change a set point in the weight loss process. Can't find it. Can't remember what magazine I was reading.

So now ... in addition to the convoluted post on Info's journal is this convoluted journal entry of my own. I'm tired just trying to write it!! And I 'm HUNGRY!!! DRAT.

I can easily become obsessed with the 'number' and begin to compare myself to everyone else. It is what it is. I am NOT going to ever weigh 129 lbs. I know that. I'm going to leave my goal weight right where it is at 180 ... what does it matter. I do not think that I am 'maintaining' because my 'goal' is 180 ... it is my body and life.

Moving along to my grateful list ... coffee!!! I need coffee!!!!

1. three weeks from tomorrow we will be IN Mexico!!!
2. the weather has been fairly nice lately
3. my friends and family who love me the way I am
4. beginning to plan my trip to see my dearest girlfriend in May I hope!!!
5. being able to laugh

No more procrastinating for me with the tax crap!! Here's to hoping my internet connection cooperates this morning so I can get it done!!! Have a fabulous Friday ... and I'll be looking in on you very soon!!!
180.6 lb Lost so far: 78.6 lb.    Still to go: 0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

lol Amryk. Thanks replying Moose and Erika. I can understand that 5 pounds isn't that same on you as it is me, a little. I meant on top of physical, the emotional effect it has on us. You know the funk WE get in Moose. I don't like to see buddies talking about pounds being JUST a pound or no difference in 5 because its easy to forgive those 5 and climb from there or also, NOT lose because they give up when all is lost is 1 pound or 5 and not a bigger number. I have to agree w/ Amryk in those 5 pounds not making a diff in how amazing you are Moose, and w/ Erika you WILL be successfull if you ever to push it when you are ready! Right on Moose, for having good buddies like us on your list, imagine how deprived you would be w/out us! heehe
