Eclipse day and 1st day back to work after a week off. Hope some of you were able to see it as well. I did get to see a bit of the eclipse as we could see the sun on the south side of our building. I didn't see it at total but just before. We were taking turns heading over there and everyone was sharing their glasses. We are in the 100% darkness area and it did turn dark as night. The street lights and other automatic lights in the city popped on, there was a hint of dawn off on the eastern horizon. From my desk I have a view north overlooking north Kansas City and the Missouri River bridges.

We weren't too sure that we would be able to see it as it has been one storm after another. It started to clear some just as it started and the clouds rolled back in a few minutes after the light returned. Sadly, I think it was raining where some of my grandkids live, just a bit north of the city. Tonight after a couple inches of rain already today they are talking about up to 6 inches again tonight. Some of the area has flooding already.

Today is a rest day exercise wise for me. I think every muscle in my body is achy.

I just couldn't get too excited about the eclipse this time. We were at 98% or so and I've already been through one. It was cool and everything, but I ended up sleeping through this one. It's sad considering there were people from all over visiting the area to see what I was only too happy to sleep through. 🤷🏻‍♀️

LOL I didn't even think I would see any of it so it was a surprise to me that we could. I remember one from when I was in grade school. We had to make boxes to put over our heads with bity holes. Seems like they were lined with black paper. Back in the early 60's and it couldn't have been 100% since it was much lighter than this one.

We didn't get the total black out as we weren't in the direct path, but we were able to watch the eclipse with special glasses provided by a lady in the bank we were in. It was fun to see it like that. It was very cloudy so most of it happened behind the clouds. We saw the first of it and the last. Very cool indeed.
