BrandyRelaxing's Journal, 09 January 2012

So I went to see my neurologist today to ensure I can stay off my Pseudotumor cerebri (brain swelling) medications. He said that based on the optic nerve scans (which is how they monitor this), I actually have IMPROVED since last time - and last time I saw him I was on medication! He did say that the main key to curing this was losing weight, so I'm probably seeing an improvement because I have lost weight!

I love that all of my hard work has paid off in a way I never expected. I didn't think I'd ever hear anyone say I have improved the pressure on my optic nerve!!!

So most of you will probably be saying "huh??" at this stage, but that's okay, I'm excited and I am sure you are excited for me! :)

Biggest loser starts at work tomorrow, so I'm gonna drink as much water as I can before I weigh in, and hopefully lose the highest percentage of weight loss in my office!

Onwards to working out and eating responsibly tomorrow!

That is fantastic news, Brandy! Isn't it wonderful that there are other great effects from weight loss aside from the obvious! Have a great week!

Isn't amazing how much 'weight' has to do with so many illnesses? Congrats on losing enough to stop a med. That is a huge positive re-enforcer - better than new clothes in my mine! I'm looking forward to seeing your continued progress down!

Yay for non-scale victories! It's great when other things start unexpectedly improving due to all your hard work. Last year I found out I was developing a thyroid problem, as shown in my blood tests, and just last month I discovered that by losing weight I had completely reversed the effects and have no sign of the condition at all. Seriously awesome :)
