madaboutmoose's Journal, 03 January 2010

Happy New Year to one and all!!! I've been busy so haven't had much time to journal. Suffice it to say we had a WONDERFUL New Year's Eve out. I indulged in tasty treats and am up a tad (not recorded here yet) but am not overly concerned as it will come right back off. Tomorrow starts radiation therapy. I'll go with tomorrow for moral support. Then we can start marking off the days until he is done and our next vacation arrives!!

I am grateful for much ...

1. what I HAVE in my life vs. what I do not have
2. having a wonderful New Year's celebration with the love of my life
3. enjoying simple things
4. the support my friends here provide in this journey
5. realizing more and more that NOW is what is most real

I'll be back soon ... just a little busy!!

Take care!!

As usual your 5 are wonderful. I am glad you enjoyed your New Years Celebration. I think we all indulged but that's what celebrating is all about. Good luck tomorrow.

Hey Glen ... I'm pretty sure that was a typo ... you said "please know that you are now journeying alone" ... you meant "not journeying alone" right? LOL!!! Sorry Moose ... you made it to 2010 now you are on your own!!!

Just couldn't resist giving you grief Glen!!! That was just a perfect typo!!! Thank you for the kind words ... I am just a regular gal ... really working hard at taking things a day at a time, being grateful for what I have in my life, and keeping my weight reasonable!!! I think we all inspire each other ... that is what is so wonderful about this site ... all the good friends!!

Moose, I'll be thinking of you and your husband tomorrow. I love #1. One of the New Year's resolutions I thought of is to Want What I Have. Thanks for reminding me.

Carpe diem...yes, I have to remind myself of that one more than I care to admit. Thoughts and prayers with you and your honey tomorrow, Moose.

Happy New Year! I've appreciated very much your support this past year, and I enjoy checking in here to see how your journey is going. Your lists are such a wonderfully positive reinforcement to look back on. It helps to have something to keep perspective when you feel it slipping away. Good thoughts and prayers for you and your husband as you go through this difficult journey you're beginning, but glad that you have perspective on that as well, looking towards the days when that cloud is past.

Cindy ... twas only our first time going out on the town for New Year's!! It was a lot of fun. I meant to bring my camera but forgot so no pictures of me all dressed slinky in my high heeled boots!! I was VERY tall!!! Lots of dancing, drinking, and eating. Saw lots of friends and had a great time!!! Now it is REALITY time!! It is amazing how quickly my scale goes up ... one night and one day and I'm UP like 6 lbs!!!! Fortunately I am taking it in stride (my challenge goal for 7 days) and feeling so wonderful about the progress I made in 2009!!
