Yesterday was the five year wedding anniversary for Wife and I. We had a great day with a few missions and it all went well and we ended up home, safe and happy all around! :)

It was initially a day of challenges. I had to do a "hard case" interview in the morning at work. I was supposed to have a supervisor with me, as I am not really fully equipped to handle this kind of interviews as I am still learning. However, she wasn't able to attend, and I didn't want to cancel, so I manned up and did it anyways. Well, whaddaya know - I completely took control of the thing and got everything set up and squared away. That felt SO good. There is nothing like feeling that you have control over what you're doing. I guess you can apply that to the whole weight loss thing too. Take control.

Then, after that, I left work early to join my wife going to the hospital. She has arthritis in her hands, and the medicine she was taking just didn't cut it. So we went, talked to the doc, got her a different kind of medicine and so far (knock on wood, please!) it's working a charm.

Then, we went shopping a little bit, since we were in Holbæk, a slightly larger town than my own, and they have a few different stores. We didn't find much of interest though, but ended up buying some flavored coffees. These are the ones that have been soaked in flavored oils. I guess essentially, these should be counted as a calorie intake, but I also believe there is so little oil in them, and I drink about a cup of it daily, that I just don't bother. If I get even more hooked on it, I may have to. It's a great supplement when I want snacks and I don't have room in my calorie counter.
I keep buying them, and we keep drinking them. I love trying new flavors, and I think at the moment the roasted almond flavor is the big favorite.
A glance at my kitchen counter reveals that I have the following sitting there, waiting for me to pick my next poison:
- Roasted Almond
- Winter Warmer
- Tira Misou (most likely misspelled)
- Caramel
- Cappuccino
- Coconut
- Pistachio Ice Cream
- Ethiopian Espresso
- Good old fashioned regular coffee
- and a few more. Addict much, you ask? You bet! :)

Of course, these are ONLY coffee beans. They do not contain sugar, or anything else like that. Some may have a tiny bit of chocolate powder, but I try to avoid getting those. I want to do this right, and I try to be on the lookout for the little traps.

Speaking of coffee, I wrote to the supplier of the coffee vending machine at work, to get the nutritional info of their coffee, creamer, chocolate, etc. What a shocker! A 150 ml chocolate drink is 69 calories, 82 with milk! I'm glad I'm not hooked on that - I only drink black coffee or espresso (3 and 2 calories). However, I do see a lot of the ladies there drink MANY chocolates in a day. Maybe I should post the info on the machine? Or is that just me being a jerk? :)

Anyways... let me get to our dinner. We actually ended up having dinner in a small cafe/pub/burger joint. It was a really nice place, quite and kinda secluded. They did 100% home made burgers and it was a treat. They were enormous, neither wife or I were able to finish. I tossed about 80% of the bread to the side, skipped half the meat (it was a 200% burger patty so there was plenty for me anyways) and essentially treated it as a salad with salsa, meat and jalapenos. It was super nice.

I ended up coming home with left over calories, so I - again - had a little ice cream in the evening.

I do think ice cream helps keeping me sane. I LOVE ice cream. I generally buy the super low calorie ones, but I wasn't able to get that this time. So I will just have to either spend more calories having the same amount, or eat less. That's okay. Next time, I will go a little more out of my way to get the proper one. I see how many calories I waste on it, and I am really not wanting to do that. However, I also follow my principle of eating what I feel like within reason and within my calories.

So...

About my weigh in:
I dropped ANOTHER 800 grams today! WOW! I can't believe that I still keep dropping weight like that. This week I am cutting out (almost) all white bread (all I've had was 1/4 bun yesterday), potatoes, pasta and rice. IF this is the result, then they're gone for good! lol. It's been quite a while since I've dropped weight like that, and several days in a row. I just did an estimate, I have on average the last 4 weeks dropped 250 g (that 1/2 lb) PER DAY! I have no idea how I do that, but fact is that it's happening. I am now less than 10 kgs away from my final goal.

Today will be a crazy, busy day at work. I got all my food planned, with plenty of space for a snack here and there. Got a huge cabbage and chicken thai chili salad for lunch. There's a full pound of food so I am sure to not run out of energy or get hungry for the afternoon. I'll cruise through the day just fine.

I hope you all have a wonderful day too.

Life is good! :)

Cutting carbs is supposed to make you loose a lot of water that is in your glycogen storage.

@sunshine - that makes sense. I've never been focused on cards, but I see the point. Maybe it is something that I have to keep an eye on a little more. I just gotta build a set of rules around it. Don't want any more things to count and calculate.
