kingkeld's Journal, 28 October 2011

Dammit - I think a lot of the weight lost the last two days were me being low on water - or maybe I am just high on water today. I gained a whole kg since yesterday. Nothing TOO worrying, I am still perfectly on target for Saturdays weight-in, especially if I can lose some of it during today. I am sure I will.

Today is FUN day. It's a short day at work (Fridays always are) and I will be rocking with the band tonight for rehearsal. We're rehearsing for an upcoming little concert, and we're very keen on getting everything right for that night. It'll be so much fun!

Yesterday, I was reflecting a lot on my weight loss journey, and how things are affected by our surroundings and how people perceive us. As much as I hate to admit it, people DO look at you different when you're "super-sized". I have experienced it, and I see it more every day. I am absolutely sure that nobody WANTS to do this, it just happens. I firmly believe that nobody really wants to do anything with bad intentions, we just simply see things differently.

However, for me so many things have changed other than my physical appearance. When I started losing weight I was unemployed, laid off from my job as a machine operator (officially the most boring job in the world!) and weighed in at 155 kgs. I was unhappy, unhealthy and not really on top of things. I'd wear size 52 carpenter jeans simply because that's all I could get that would fit me.

Now, as a comparison, I am in size 34 and they're WAY too big. I really gotta go get new pants. I am in size Medium shirts and jackets. I have completely changed my appearance towards what I would really look like.

I have a job that I really like to do - a job that makes sense to me. Sure, it's busy and sure, it's hard to learn all the things I need to learn, but I really like doing it.

I can tell I am happier, which makes the people surrounding me happier.

I now play in a band again. I have some great new musician friends that I really enjoy hanging out with and both play and talk with. I play IMO the single most awesome bass guitar in the world!

I have energy and stamina like I have never had it before. Who knew that I could RUN? :)

I used to be on two different type of medicine for my blood pressure. Today, I am completely medicine free, except for an occasional pain killer for a headache or similar.

I have a completely different view on the things I eat. I can see that I have been damaging myself through so many years, where I simply didn't care. I knew what I ate was not good for me, but it just wasn't important to me the way it should have been.

All these things have now come together and created what I really believe is a better me. It's nice to be able to say that. It's nice to know that it's true.

Have a great weekend, my friends! I hope yours will be as great as mine!

Life is good!

I think you should put all of your journals together in a book and call it "A Kings Journey" and publish it... I’m very serious - you are very gifted with words, with you way of explanation and how to talk to people and keep them interested. Your journey and experiences are amazing, and I think if you kept it for only we privileged folks here on FS it would be very selfish of you. So many people out there would benifit from your knowledge, your struggles and your acomplishments And I think you should mention me in the forward of your best selling book :) Just Saying
