Friday. Ever so glad!!!

My get up and go has got up and went. I've had migraines the past two days. Been able to stick it out and stay at work but I think it is impacting me. We arrived home last night to discover another cord of wood had been delivered we did not expect. We had ordered it but had not arranged a delivery date. Okay. Except we had another truck load from someone else coming so we had to stack that pile before the next pile arrived. Probably another reason I'm dragging. My hands are sore, my rings are tight, and I am so glad it is Friday.

The scale is up. Again. Now to 206. Okay .... I shouldn't fret ... last week at this time was 214. And, of course as I told you I'm dragging, my rings are tight, I suspect this is simply an "adjustment" time. I've continued the high protein approach ... this is day 8. So, low-carb buddies of mine ... encourage me. I've not changed what I am eating. What's the deal?

Sharon ... you asked what am I eating. Protein, protein, and more protein. Low fat cottage cheese, slices of deli chicken, chicken breasts, hamburger patties, steak, turkey meat balls, eggs, chicken sausage, turkey bacon. And ... 1 1/2 tablespoons of oat bran a day usually made into a pancake using an egg, non-fat greek yogurt (plain), and the bran.

If I didn't have clients to see today I would have been tempted to stay home but duty calls. Tomorrow I can sleep in, we can get the wood stacked, again, and as the day goes on hopefully I'll feel more energetic!!

And I must remember and practice thinking ... I am kind to myself. I sleep well, I take care of myself. My body efficiently burns calories, I feed my body what it needs to shed excess weight. I am a successful business woman and entrepreneur. I like myself! I love my body!! I am organized and efficient. I plan well and follow through with my plans. Our wood shed is full. Our dental needs are met. We have more than adequate finances to meet our needs and desires. I earn $100,000 a year. I am an expert in my field and people pay me for my expertise. We have money saved for a vacation in Mexico in February 2012. I handle strong emotion and conflict calmly.

I am also grateful. Today for ...

1. A wood shed that is almost 1/2 way full.
2. Payday Friday!!
3. Less than a week until I get to spend time with my best girlfriend.
4. Beautiful blue skies and sunshine yesterday.
5. Managing my way through migraines.

Oh ... my hotflashes are increasing again too.

I am reminding myself that something wonderful will happen to me today. I am reminding myself that feeling worn out is likely related to the up fluctuations on the scale and the less than joyous outlook I am feeling. I am reminding myself how powerful my thoughts are and that I alone am responsible for how I feel. I will weigh less than 200 lbs. by the end of this month. I will weigh close to 185 by the first of the year. I am capable, responsible, persistent, and determined. AND ... I have the best company possible in this journey. I will smile until I feel the smile inside!!!

Time to shuffle on up the road ... business ahead ... relaxation ahead ... possibilities, good things ... and regardless of what the scale says I like myself and I LOVE my body ... every inch of it!!

Sorry you aren't feeling so good today. If your rings are tight you know you are retaining fluid. Not sure why that is, for a women it can be many reasons. Good job on staying on low carb this week. How are yo doing on the fats? You need to eat lots of fat on low carb. Some fats naturally come from meat like bacon, etc, but you need butter or olive oil or some kind of fat as well as the protein and veggies. Perhaps you are a bit constipated - sorry for being invasive! Hope you feel better Carol. Drink lots of water, get some chicken stock cubes into you for the salt and see if that helps. And no doubt all the extra physical energy of shifting all that wood is dragging you down too while your body adjusts to burning a different energy source - fat - for fuel.

Eagerly watching the experiment. So excited for you that it's friday and you can get a break!!! Sleep in- chill a bit this weekend in some fuzzy slippers. Excellent job on the not beating yourself up! YOU ARE REALLY DOING GREAT!!!!! TRULY!!!!!

Izzy ... since I haven't really been "counting" I don't know how I am doing with fats. Dukan recommends low fat everything. I know Atkins doesn't. So confusing. I appreciate the input though ... not invasive at all ... I asked for it. @ Sharon ... Thanks!!

You are amazing! Don't forget the water-at least 8 glasses a day. Keep doing what you are doing. I am so impressed. I couldn't bring myself to do the oat bran. I have the flu and a nasty tonsillitis. Will write more soon.
