Addie Aline's Journal, 08 January 2016

I've been reading some of my past journals and it seems like I always have a lot of excuses. Well I'm going to work on that, yes I have joint & back problems & allergies & asthma but I need to just find ways to work through those things & stop whining. Because those things are going to be with me from now on.

If anyone has any suggestions how to break that habit I'm all ears. It was a tough year but I have a biggy behind me (my eyes) so I think I'll be in a better mood all around.

I plan to up my exercise next week I've been out so long I'm taking small steps but I already feel better just doing some. So everyone bare with me I'll try to be a better buddy this year.

Everyone have a good weekend but stay the course.

a couple years ago Dr Oz, on tv, said not to look at your goal weight at the end of a diet, but just try for 10# at a time. when you hit that 10# then try for another 10#. it really does sound better than 50#. helps mentally too. ive same health issues as you... i need knee replacement in april-may 2016 tho. to help, i got an exercise glider. it does not hurt your knee at all. look on line for a used one. i got mine for $20 instead of $150. Good luck hon.

I have asthma and allergies, as well as very badly damaged bones and joints. I can't swim (asthma!) but I LOVE water exercise--I used to teach it, and I learned then that the water takes 97% of your body weight so my students, no matter their age or size or condition, could do all the exercises and they were FUN. And walking is always good, it can be very slow and gentle. What I'm bad about remembering until I get into it again (I did yesterday) is that the endorphins from exercise feel so good they MAKE me want to keep it up. You can do this! We're all here to help each other :)

I read the same thing about Oz and the 10 at a time and thats how I did it so far.. I work on 10 at a time. I make a long term goal : 50 lbs this year . short term : work on the next 10, then a immediate goal, say more water this week or dont eat after 7pm or more leafy greens.. setting realistic goals really helped me.. And BTW , your a great buddy.. hang in there.. do what you can when you can and every week add a bit more.I have asthma too and my symptoms actually got better once the weight started coming off.. You have no reason to apologize either.. we all work at different paces. .. you got this pretty lady !!

I get so excited every time I enter a new decade on the scale. Each one of those 10 lb increments seems like such an accomplishment! I remember when you got to see the big weight move a notch at the doctors office...that's a thing of the past with the new electronic scales. No drama with them! LOL
