Day 3 or 4 of living (mostly) gluten and dairy free and I'm feeling good, although yesterday for a while I felt very bloated, as in my pants and shirt genuinely felt tighter. I'm hoping that's pre-period bloat because I have been SO SO careful about watching my food intake and exercising daily. I had one little moment of gluten slip up characterized by a few pretzels and a small piece of bread (two separate occasions) but in general it hasn't been that hard. The dairy, however, has been a little harder to avoid namely because I'm on a family vacation and my mom's way of showing love is to stock up her children with chocolate. For real. But I noticed that after generally abstaining from dairy, I feel a little nauseous after eating a piece of chocolate. For real! So the dairy has been less and less and I do think I feel a difference. At the very least the scale is moving in the right direction.

Update (maybe TMI) - was having terrible gas pains, so I caved and ate pretzels and a few cookies. I think I was very, very constipated, because the next thing I knew, my gas was better, and the next thing after that I was pooping like there was no tomorrow. Read online that the missing element that keeps me "regular" may be magnesium.
