Well I don't what's going on in my head, all of a sudden I'm wondering if maybe I should go back to counting calories instead of LCHF. This just hit me this morning. Maybe it's because there's fresh fruit everywhere and I've always loved fruit. Yet I know I feel better eating this way even though my Fibro and Arthritis flaired up. I know that wasn't from the food.

Maybe it's because I heard someone talking about how bad the fat and meat are for you. I wish it wasn't so easy for words to mess with my head.

I'm on this path and I think I should stick with it at least for awhile longer. Maybe if I loose a little more it will help my reserve.

I could use some input on overcoming this feeling if anyone could help. Thanks

this happens to me all the time. I really miss bananas a lot sometime. 1st off, dont listen to what others say about meat and fat. Ask your dr, and get informed. There is nothing wrong with healthy meats and fats. Its a misconception that uneducated people make a guess at. Go with the facts. Then ask yourself, have I lost more doing low carb or counting calories, the go with that. Ive heard so many people complain about how unhealthy they think low carb is, but to tell you the truth, my bio metrics have never been better, Im off high blood pressure meds and I look and feel great. Everyone's body is different, and you should go with what works best for you and your lifestyle.Dont let other people opinions sway you...People are scared of what they dont understand...

AngelTee22, LCHF means low carb and high fat. The Atkins Diet Revolution is that type of diet.

You can still have some fruits on LCHF. Apricots Carb count: 8 grams per 2 fruits (try 1 for 4 carbs) Strawberries Carb count: 11 grams per cup (try half a cup) ½ cup fresh raspberries: 3.5 grams effective (net) carbohydrate plus 4 grams fiber. ½ cup blackberries: 3.5 grams effective (net) carbohydrate plus 4 grams fiber ½ cup cantaloupe, cubed: 7 grams effective (net) carbohydrate plus 1 gram fiber There are others also. If you feel better why would you change? Let your body tell you if you are doing the right thing for you.

I am LCHF and this week have had fresh black raspberries daily and still in ketosis and losing. Portion control is still key and I watch my calories as much as my carbs. 1200-1400cal.

I'm a LCHF/Keto evangelist and I'm learning to check my WOE Rrhetoric, saying that, I know that we're all different. What works for one doesn't always work for another. My wife and I couldn't swap WOE and still maintain/lose. As much as I love Keto, I know it's not for everyone (but I can't understand why?!?! lol). Stick with what'l work for your body, where you get your results.

I agree with Frosty - LCHF works well for me but YOU have to do what best works for you. I also feel fruit can bump the sugar up for people with diabetes - but some fruit although higher carb is healthful.

Thanks everyone, I guess I just needed reassurance. I do feel better with this WOE and I'm not hungry all the time so that should be telling me I'm doing the right thing. Loosing slowly would be a fact of life because of meds either way. So I'm here to stay LCHF I've even found I can eat ice burg lettuce without problems this week. I don't think I'm ready to even try berries it might send me over the deep end.

Addie, you sound so much like me. I tend to be swayed so easily. I have so many diet books and cookbooks in my house, as if just buying them will help me lose weight. Ha Ha! I have diabetes and I find the my blood sugar stays on a more even keel when I eat lower carb. I have eliminated wheat (again) because lately my joints have been screaming pain. I was stupid and had two hotdogs on a bun and hamburgers on buns AND ate toast in the mornings ... and in one week, my hands, wrists, hips and knees were just aching and I had to KNOW it was the bread ... and possibly the processed hotdogs, too. I haven't eaten those in years. We just have to try to make ourselves feel better. To me, food is medicine. Berries are a low carb fruit to eat .. as the others have said. Just eat them when they are in season .... like now. :0)
