Coyotes. I do not like coyotes. There was one very close to the house last night when I took my dobies out to do their business, barking like crazy, trying to lure my babies into their grip. Fortunately I hollered at the dogs, they actually listened, and I got them back inside. Hubby went exploring, saw the lone coyote who was luring, and the pack close by. Fired off a couple shots to frighten them off. It was quiet until this morning when I could hear them again, a little further off but still ... I am so paranoid they will get one of my dogs. That is the downside to living in the woods I suppose. So, for now, my baby boy is on a leash because he likes to wander. My old girl stays close by most of the time ... so at least I don't have to walk two nearly 100 pound dogs on a leash at the same time to do their business!!

Frank is teasing me once again!!! 178.8 this morning!!! I took Info's counsel and had a low calorie day yesterday. The upside is the slight decrease in the scale. The downside? I went to bed HUNGRY and woke up HUNGRY!!! LOL!!! Still, it is exciting to see anything with a 178 in it. UNBELIEVABLE!!! For those of you that feel at times like this is impossible? It is possible. I am living proof. I am now in territory I can never remember being in. I will undoubtedly fluctuate back up into the 180's, certainly after my mini-vacation, but I know have proof ... in black and white ... written in my journal that the 170's are possible for ME!!!

Time marches on and I must pull myself away from fatsecret and get on with my day. It certainly is an adventure ... life that is ... I have so much to be grateful for ... and hopefully I can be mindful of that as challenges present!! Have a wonderful, healthy, grateful, and feeling good about yourself day!!

I want to thank you so so so much for the helpful observations and commentary you posted on my journal today. I left you and others a message there - over on my journal. Also - I love the way you count your blessings as part of your daily entry. Yours is a square-your-shoulders-and face-the-day level-headed approach. I like your style and I am glad you are my FS bud!

Hi girlie, your post gave me chills. Yikes! Would a pack of coyotes attack a human if they were hungry enough. They are the size of German Shepherds are they not??? or am I thinking of wolves! A pack of anything wild can be scary. You keep those dogs of yours close to you, how horrible if they were hurt. Can you carry pepper spray or something with you if they attacked or carry a hand gun? You are sooooo close to goal. I bet you are there in two weeks. :-)

Poet - I consciously try to find the positives each morning. It makes my day better and I believe in the "law of attraction"!! Thanks! Mo - My dogs are big. I don't think coyotes would attack an adult but maybe a small child. We have firearms. I will definitely be careful ... it freaks me out for my dogs!! And ... we'll see when I reach my goal ... I'm ready anytime for that!!!

1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5! I am counting my blessings this morning and I am counting you in. I - too - believe in the law of attraction. I call in the "karmic law" - parallel concept. I teach a novel about a young pioneer bride stranded in a North Dakota sod hut. The coyotes howling in the wind symbolize her many fears about life. I love teaching that little book! Our school district is a RURAL district wherein the kids ride four wheelers and have pole barns behind their houses so they really relate! Have a super day Kiddo!
