Unbelievably wild thunder and lightning storm last night ... about 11:30 pm. Woke me up. Then a "neighbor" called to share that there were lightning strikes igniting fires nearby. UGH. We live in the woods so fire is always intimidating. The neighbor actually called twice ... far enough apart that I had fallen back to sleep. Then I woke up thinking I smelled smoke!! I think I was dreaming it because once I oriented myself and woke up enough all I could smell was fresh rain. We had a house fire a number of years ago so I know first hand what smoke nearby smells like ... it sticks with you!!

This morning is cloudy and overcast and we've had more rain. That is good. Hopefully, if there are fires this milder weather will make them easier to control. I'm grateful there doesn't appear to be any danger right now.

Well, I must be off, finish getting ready for work, pack my food for the day, finish hair and make up, etc!!! Have a great day. Count your blessings ... we all have them ... sometimes we just have to look a little more diligently for them than others. I will do the same!!

I am happy to hear that there was no seriousness in regards to the nearby fires.

Yikes, the fires sound scary. I have to admit I would love to have some of the milder weather though...doubt I'll see mild here for months.

I'm glad to hear that everything is OK, we are all pretty much in a situation in which an untold number of things can happen at any moment. Perhaps it's best not to worry *too* (very subjective) much about things we cannot control.

Sounds scary. I think the thunderstorms must be well spread as we had a good one and then torrential rain last night. Today has been hot but its rumbling again in the distance tonight. At this time of the year we only get a couple of hours darkness so the lightning isn't too dramatic and fortunately the trees are about 1/2 a mile away so no problem there. Hope you escape more storms tonight.

I would like that rain, I have sod that was laid by our condo association because of winter salt damage and I am tired of watering it. I try to water it twice a day so I guess I need to get back out there. The neighbors have moved, their condo is for sale, so I am doing that too otherwise it will die and look terrible. Dreams again for you Carol and how they seem real. Glad it was only a dream. Stay safe friend.
