wholefoodnut's Journal, 15 February 2015

Went to bed late, slept late. This was the no alarm day for the 3 day weekend. Will have to be up and dressed fairly early tomorrow as the guys will probably be down to work on my attic in the am. Depends on the weather as we are supposed to get a little snow, as long as it's not ice we are good.

Exercise today will be getting rid of the piles of wallpaper covering my kitchen floor and scrubbing the glue off the walls. Maybe a trip to Home Depot for ceiling paint, check out lighting options, and they have a sale on blinds. Hoping to have the ceiling painted and Kilz primer on the walls tomorrow. We will see.

Swearing at this new laptop, love that I can type on a keyboard. It keeps going places that I do not want it to. I'll get used to it and upgrade to Windows 10 when it comes out. I much prefer the old windows programs but they are no longer compatible with many things.

Thawed out a chunk of meat that was in my freezer, forgot to label it. Turned out it's a boneless pork shoulder. Thinking some pork chili is in the works for this cold day and week to come. It can cook while I'm working on wallpaper. I'm trying to use up what's in the freezers.

Stay toasty and safe all of you who are in the path of yet more snow and icy cold this weekend.

Just trying to plod through and get my main floor painted and orgainized. Seems like every time I plan to work on it something gets in the way. I'm not battling bouts of pneumonia or bronchitis this year so it's a priority. Getting my house done is part of my plan about feeling good about myself.

not getting much done. Went to Home depot this , bought my paint. No light fixtures. Made some lunch and fell asleep on the couch, then the critter guy shows up to check the traps, and added another. no coons but did get a mouse inside. Ordered some new sneakers from New Balance, my annual year tax return purchase.

I envy you. I have a fixer upper to put it mildly. Between kids and bad weather I have several projects stalled. I was staring at the wallpaper in the finished basement thinking of you lol. It's that 70's textured stuff . I am seriously considering just painting over it.

Fixer uppers are a challenge, I wish you luck with all that work. Mine was in pretty good shape when I bought it but outdated in many ways and the bank had painted the main floor with cheap white flat paint over wallpaper etc. The basement was just plain dark and ugly with old barely working florescent fixtures. The basement has all been re-done, now working on the upstairs to get it updated and so it fits me.

I kind of inherited this one so I am very lucky but it wasn't maintained and needs tons of repairs and updates. I still have lots of boxes to go through and stuff to donate as well. But I love the neighborhood and it's great for my kids and grandkids.

Good for you sleeping in - you have to get up so early for work that it's nice when you can have a sleep in day! Enjoy your meat - I should have taken mine out today and forgot ... I guess I will unthaw tomorrow - it will be lamb!

They wouldn't like me on hgtv, it takes me too long to get things done LOL. They like doing things with deadlines! I do love some of their ideas.
