Happy New Year.

I was doing a little experiment for the last 119 days since I have been on FS and here are my results:
- I gained 12.2 pounds
- I had low energy and motivation
- I thought I could do this without support, I was wrong.

I need you my FS family and miss you. I must admidt, I had to use this time to filter out all of the crap going on, one could call it excususes however no matter what, if you give it energy, they will seem legit.

My days start at 4:45 am and I have to be out the door by 5:15 AM. I tried getting up earlier but that requires going to be by 9 PM which is difficult because I get home around 6:30 PM and on. When I do get in, I have to tend to the kids because wife works in the day and goes to school at night.

These were and still are things I have to deal with but I will figure out a way.

MGRILL, thank you for your private message. If you could maximize a 30 minute workout window at work I could consider that as well.

I could try working out in the evening around 8:30 but am a little afraid that I will have difficulties falling asleep an hour after my workout. It has happened in the past and a little concerned about that.

All I can do at this time is reconnect, get back on this two way street of advice, encouragement, the setbacks and the many, many victories.

I am back, hope you have room for me.

-Ches

WELCOME BACK Ches!!! I got room for you... I wondered WHERE you went!!! It is difficult to find the time to workout and do the "right" thing, but it can be done.... You simply need to be creative as you approach the execution of such a life changing endeavor... You CAN do it!!! Happy 2015, and GOOD LUCK!!!

Missed you Ches, it's great to have you back and it's a god way to start off the new year. Sounds like you have a busy schedule. All any of us can do is try our best, hope you can figure out a way to get some workouts into your schedule. Looking forward to watching your success!

A friend of mine tried just rolling out of bed and walking for 15 minutes before he showered in the morning( his schedules a lot like yours). Now its a habit and he runs a half hour every day and sleeps better as well. He said the first couple weeks was quite an adjustment but it was that or no workouts.........Good Luck!

Welcome back!! It can be extremely hard to get any deliberate physical activity in when your days are so busy, and I know that can be discouraging. Remember that what we put into our bodies is more than half the battle, and that you most definitely have control of that. Do what you can when you can, I'm sure you'll work the details out as you go and be back on track in no time. Happy New Year :)

Thanks everyone for your suggestions and support. Got a buddy to do some stairs with me and we ending up walking up 241 and down 241 stairs between 2 stairwells in a less than 20 minutes. I had to stop and write the stairs per flight (22 flights total) to get a baseline. We will go again later this afternoon and this time without stoping to document now that number is documented and this time will will get an accurate time. Off to a good start, not too hard, but it is a start.

I have a suggestion. Since you don't have time to make breakfast in the morning. You should grab a banana and some yogurt and eat that for breakfast while you're on your way to work.

Good suggestion divairis. I usually spend that 1.5 plus hour on the way in to work sleeping unless I am the driver. I have breakfast when I get in and I am not starving or anything because I was sleeping. If I am the driver, then i just sip on coffee and that keeps me until I get in. Thx.

try some ankle weights to maximize the walking you do! Even 5lb weights will make a big difference! If you can / allowed, if you sit a lot at work, try using a yoga ball instead of a chair, helps you use those core muscles while working (be careful don't want you to fall off!)

Focus on what you are eating; and do 30 minutes of excercise 3x's a week. You don't have to go to the gym do a body weight circuit at home. Pushups, Situps, Lunges, Planks; Check out YouTube and search for Men's Health or Body Weight Excercises. Then you can try the gym, or go for a long walk or run on the weekends.

I did it. Logged food and exercise for the 2/3 of the day. Will log the evening food and if I exercise again tonight, I will log that too. I even completed a second set of 241 stairs up and 241 stairs down in 9 minutes 20 seconds. Day one is almost in the bag. Yay!!!
