abbadabba's Journal, 16 December 2014

K went and shopped Saturday and we sorted out the food. I totally did not follow the plan Sunday, but mostly did Monday.

Took the yogurt and a cauliflower and spices and made Spicy Yogurt Cauliflower which was ok but did not get crispy. I had salad and made spicy yogurt dressing by adding a little water and some cilantro and tomato juice so it was like salsa on the salad. Very good - have to get some vinegars to make different dressings so I don't eat the ranch that my daughter uses.

You may have noticed that I had key lime pie last night for dinner. I am going to have to work that into the plan!

Did I mention my 22 yo daughter has to gain weight? So she had the above, with the addition of hot cocoa and a bean burrito! I get to cook for her and then she eats.

Haven't finished sorting the groceries into "my" food versus "daughter's" food but that will make it easier to stay on track.

If your daughter is trying to gain weight the "right" way, you can both eat the same foods, you just have to eat much smaller amounts of them. Loads of sugar and processed foods is not the way to gain weight, as a bodybuilder I go on cycles of gaining weight in order to gain muscle, I don't do that by eating cupcakes and cheeseburgers (that's how you clog arteries and give yourself organ diseases), I do it by adding nuts, oats, and other healthy calorie sources to my diet. When the time comes to lose weight, I keep eating those same foods, just less of them. Your groceries don't have to be different from your daughters.
