aggie95's Journal, 03 September 2014

Wow, Wednesday already! I had a great weekend. Did a little too much endulging but it was the last weekend of summer! Yesterday it was really warm here and at lunch time the heavens opened up and the rain came down. So no run. And today, again no run as we had a department meeting that went to 12:30. I'm thinking that I'll just have to try to do something tonight at home. We'll see.

Tomorrow is my son's first day of kindergarten. I'm getting nervous. I've got the day booked off and my hubbie and I are taking him to school and then we'll pick him up too. Just seems like yesterday that I was off on mat leave with him and now he's off to school. Wow!! My little guy says he's looking forward to going to school, so fingers crossed it will be a good experience for him. As much as I've tried to prepare him for this change, he'll have to figure things out for himself, he's that type of person. Say a prayer for him and me!

Well, fall is upon us. And with cooler weather coming, I'm looking forward to my lunch time runs. I'm hoping I can kick up a notch and peel some time off. If anyone has some advice for how to achieve faster running, I'm all up for it. I also need to start some kind of strength training too, nothing serious maybe 10 to 20 min at day. Just need some kind of routine. And if anyone would like to critique my food journal, please do! I know I'm maintaining but I'd like to see if I could drop a few more pounds.

Thanks buddies!!

Good luck on the first day of Kindergarten!! My daughter started this year and she is loving it. I'm so glad. I was concerned because she goes all day and PreK was only 3 hours, but she adjusted with no problem. Sometimes I think its Mom and Dad who have a harder time. . . .but isn't that how it is supposed to be? Great job on maintenance and keeping up with your runs.

Good luck tomorrow, I will be thinking of you!! I read that to increase speed you should do sprint intervals, so maybe try that? As far as squeezing out a few more pounds switching up the workout routine with some strength training or new types of cardio should help. Have a great night :)

Good luck with that 1st day! He'll do great! It is much harder on us than them. I've heard the same as Yo, do the sprint intervals and that helps make you faster. The strength training is a great idea. Muscle burns more than fat and those strength days will definitely help.
