Been thinking about how 3500 calories is one pound. 30 days into my Keto diet I’ve lost 14 pounds. Sounds crazy, right? I have been averaging 1700 calories per day versus an average of 3000 calories burned. 1300 calorie deficit multiplied by 30 days and then divided by 3500 is 11 pounds expected to be lost. Honestly the math worked out closer than I thought!

Some days I do feel hungry and I’ll take in 2200, maybe 2300 calories...the next day is usually a bone broth until dinner kind of day and I can take in as little as 1000 calories and feel satiated. I’ve never found any other diet that works as effectively for me.

Just my morning thought. Have a good one.

how are you calculating glycogen depletion and water weight loss into that?

Rick, I’m not. What I do know is that as of four weeks ago my main source of hydration came from beer. Not kidding. My actual water intake was very low throughout the day. Now I’ve cut beer out and only have a little 50ml single serve shot of vodka or whiskey at night...and sometimes no alcohol, which is a drastic change. I now drink nothing but my morning coffee, water and the occasional sip of zero calorie sports drink just to taste some sweetness. I am sleeping better...besides the weight loss I can’t believe how much different my sleep schedule has become. I still have plenty of “energy stores” around the midsection as of this moment. What’s the concern with glycogen depletion? Losing muscle mass? I do have a plan to switch my keto towards a more balanced diet with higher protein levels and some beneficial carbs as I approach my goal weight. Should be about four to six more weeks at the rate I’m going. I welcome your input. Thanks.
