Cindy Thompson's Journal, 09 February 2011

Happy Wednesday everyone! Hope all my buddies are doing well.

I am going to just rant here this morning. I feel like crap. Between dealing with the pain I've had in my body to a massive head cold and sore throat I've been out of sorts. I'm not being a good patient right now. Also, my daughter has been putting alot of new demands on my attention. I already watch our grandaugter at their house during the week. I try to do as much as I can for her housework wise but refuse to do it all. Olivia is my first concern. Maybe I should just delete this entry. No, ya'll need to know that I have bad days too. Maybe I just need to get some sleep. I've been up since 2 am. I feel constipated. Maybe too much red meat. Will give it until tonight and then I'll take something for it. I'm not dehydrated as I drink alot of water. Anyhow, I could use your prayers.

Constipated and sleep deprived!!! Oh my! Anyone would be a bit out of sorts, Cindy!!! Your daughter, and Olivia are soooo blessed to have you! (deep down your daughter knows that!) Just let her know what you've let us know here...that your granddaughter is your first concern, and IF you get anything else done...that's an extra! Some days...she shouldn't be looking for any extras! That's just how it goes! Hope you feel better soon w/ that cold and throat! Vit C, Chicken Broth, Etc... jump on it right away! And get plenty of rest!!!

Good morning Cindy! I know I sound like the spokesperson for it haha but chia seeds are such a wonderful whole food that will make you regular for life! Do a little research online about them. I hope you feel better soon. I babysit my grandaughter who is 11 months old during the day 2 days a week. I know somedays it's impossible to get anything done because it's all about Cheyenne. Paula is right that's just the way it goes. Have a great day and hope you get lots of rest.

Oh Cindy, so sorry you are feeling poorly. Hope you take Paula's advice. You are so wonderful and such a blessing to your family, but you absolutely need to take care of you, first. Hope you get some rest. Glad you decided not to delete your post, this is your safe zone, we are your friends, so keep it real with us, nothing less is expected or wanted. Hope you get some rest and feel better soon. Praying for a speedy recovery of body and spirit. Much love and hugs.

Sorry your not feeling yourself lately. Sorry you caught this cyber cold. Kids, got to love em, huh? They grow up, move away, don't want us to stick our noses into their business, but expects us to continue to do everything for them. Just isn't right, is it Cindy? Hang in there, someday they will grow up.lol Eat a MIM, they always work if I get a little bound up. Hope today is a better day for you and I will be praying for your health and for kids to lighten up on us parents.lol HUGS:)

I hope you start feeling better soon and I hope you can get some quality rest. Take care of you!

Hi Cindy, hope you feel more chippper soon. Constipation and feeling 'put upon' will do that to even the happiest of us. Sounds like you are being taken for granted a bit. You may have to give it some thought and find the right words to tell you daughter politely to back off or you will go home and she can do it all herself. Fingers crossed that things are moving by now - LOL - and that you feel better.

Honey, I am saying prayers for you. I know you love your granddaughter and daughter and want to help in whatever way you can. But.....you have to care for yourself too. I think it might be time for the two of you to have that talk. Sometimes it's easy to begin taking advantage of others when they are close to us. Not because we intend on doing so, but because their help becomes second nature to us. We tend to forget they are helping us and not obligated. Take care sweetie. Hope you feel better soon.

Cindy, I'm so sorry you feel out of sorts today! I have had this cold for what seems like weeks and I just can't shift it! Grrrrr, I have found that the more I do for people the more they expect! Some times pointing out that you are only there to look after your grandchild is a must! Also point out that you have to keep your own house so what ever you do for her is a gift! If that doesn't work then maybe don't do any thing for a while apart from look after your grandchild! She won't take you for granted in the future when she has to do these things for her self! Being bunged up was a big problem for me when I was doing Atkins and I really don't have any answers for you on that one! Sorry! When I did go I lost a pound! Lol it's nice to know I was full of s**t in a good way! Lol

Oh Leanne, you make me crack up girlfriend. Your last comment about being full of s**t in a good way. ROFLMBO Thanks for your advice. I just got back from taking my daughter to the dentist on her lunch break so now I am finally going to try to take a nap with Olivia is sleeping. Maybe I'll feel more like myself with a litte sleep. Love and Hugs{{{}}}

Cindy, I was late reading the journals today, but I have to say yours is the first one I usually read. I am so glad you are sharing and did not delete this journal entry. It brings back memories of when I took care of my kids. Isn't it strange that since they are both in their 40's they don't seem to need me anymore..They love me but don't need me. Of course being men with wives makes a big difference. Maybe if I had a girl it would be different. I love my daughter-in-laws but I don't seem to have the same closeness I used to with my kids, I miss that. You sound like a wonderful mother & grandmother. I don't know how old your daughter is but just be there when she needs you and try to take care of yourself in the meanwhile. Love Ya Wanda (HeyHon)

I second the chia seeds, was good when on them, slacked for a few days and now I am bunged again LOL. Took them last night so hoping it will help! I love that they don't upset my system like flax seeds did...

Thanks Wanda! I appreciate the advice. Our adult children all need us sometimes they just don't know it. Our young adult men feel the need to sometimes keep moms at arms length. Maybe it's because of there wives, I don't know. I guess we can be glad that our children love us. I have two sons and a daughter. One son is married and lives in New Hampshire the other isn't married yet and is a missionary in China. My daughter is married and lives in St. Louis. I travel every weekend to take care of my first grandchild. I travel between northern Illinois and St. Louis. Fridays afternoons I go home to be with my husband and Sunday after church I come back to St. Louis for the weekdays. Anyhow...have a blessed day Wanda. Love and Hugs{{{}}}

Hope you feel better Cindy! I have always thought I wish my own mother was more like you. You are truly a SUPER woman. I hope you get some much needed rest. Maybe you can convince Olivia to take a nap with you. Warm Hugs and I hope you feel better.

Hi Squiggs! I was reading that chia seed are high in calcium and are a good way to keep regular without any NET carbs. I just might be able to go back to NET carbs once my order comes in from the website I ordered from this morning. A big thank you to Doozy for bringing them to my attention. Love and Hugs{{{}}}

Cindy, I'm so sorry you are not feeling well today. It sounds like you have more than ample reason to 'rant' so just go ahead with it! That's what we're here for!! I have paused to pray that the Lord will touch you with his loving, healing grace today. Just let go and let God! I know the rest of your day will be soooo much better!! {{big hug}}

Chia seeds are high in carbs. About 11g net per ounce.

Thanks Rhonda! Your thoughtfullness and prayers are appreciated my friend. Just thought everyone should know that I had a POOP. LOL So I feel a whole lot better. Also got a 15 minute power nap. Need to go get dinner started and get the kitchen cleaned up before the troops get home from work. Love and Hugs{{{}}}
