I have an update on the Easter Challenge: I believe that gilliansings will be creating an "Official Challenge" for you to do your weigh-ins. I'll keep you posted.

As you may remember, I have tech problems that do not allow me to participate in Challenges. But I think it would be great for those of you who are working so hard to have a place to share your successes.

Now for my dilemma. DH walks in here a few minutes ago with a big grin and hands me a dark chocolate almond candy bar (bought from one of those fundraisers). I took it so as not to hurt his feelings. After all, I could break it up into bite size pieces and have one after dinner each evening. But do I really trust myself to do that? Not really! So, I put it in the freezer and will determine its fate sometime in the future. But until then, that candy bar will haunt me.

Simple...when the trash is almost full, deposit the candy into the bag, seal it up and no one will be any the wiser except you. Your hubby will feel good because he helped the fund raiser and gave you something he knows you enjoy, the fund raiser is happy because they got the money they needed, and you'll be happy because you won't have that temptation haunting you! That's a win-win-win situation! lol

Thanks Buffy. DH buys candy for himself! that haunts me if I see or hear him munching..... If it's out of sight it's pretty much out of mind unless when cleaning I run across his stash. I made some p-nut butter cookies to help with the 'I wants'... 1 cup p-nut butter, 2 eggs, mixed really well and then add 1/2 to 3/4 cup of sweeteners. i used 1/4 cup of Splenda and 1/4 cup of xylitol this time. I don't like the tasted of plain Splenda in cookies and cakes and pies and candies so I mix the two sweeteners and it's fine. Good idea to toss it. Altho I've been known to get candy back out of the trash!

Nice idea. Wish I could do that when my rider to and from work brings me breakfast sandwich from McDonald's to eat on the way to work. I think I have finally convinced her they are not part of my plan. Besides the calories and fat they are loaded with nitrates and msg. Not sure about now but when I was a manager for them years ago even their bread products were loaded with msg. Msg is a migraine and asthma trigger for me.

dboza - Thanks for the recipe - I was surprised that there is no flour (almond, flax, etc.). How long do you bake them?

Puffy Ruffles - It is all yours!

wholefoodnut - That must be hard, because even though we know what they are made of they still smell sooo goood!

I would have to throw it away...but before I did that it would have to come out of the wrapper and rubbed around the trash can..that way I wouldn't get it back out..LOL...

Sorry Buffy, after I signed off I realized I didn't put the baking times. the oven is set at 350. I use my smallest scoop which holds about 1/2 Tbsp of dough and that way they are just bite size. They bake for 10-12 mins. If you don't have a very small scoop, use a spoon and roll them into balls. If you want you can make them larger press down with a fork to make the design and bake them a bit longer. They don't spread so you can put them very close together. Ungreased cookie sheet. I got 60 of the bite size on the cookie sheet. They puff up a tiny bit. ..... I've had this recipe for about 100 years. I used to make them with a cup of sugar....

Did you know they make food storage boxes with combination locks? See The Original Food Locker by Locker Brand on Amazon. Of course, if it is in the fridge, you see it every time you open the door, so I put my husband's junk food in the box and store it in the garage. I wish I could keep him from buying cookies and pastries and candy bars, but I can't, so this is the next best thing.

BHA - Now you are thinking!

dboza - Maybe we'd have to take it for a swim in the toilet first? LOL BTW - thanks for the rest of the recipe.

JosieSchmosie - Now that is too funny! I have one cupboard where I put all of DH's lunch snacks. It has a "mental lock" on it because he works out of town and this stuff has to be there for him when he leaves. Funny the ways we can fool ourselves.

Buffy.... I think that would definitely work. No toilet water candy for me, thanks.

I think I finally got the point across to my DH -- he keeps his chocolate covered almonds in his car! So, toilet water & into the garbage?!? xoxox

Ruth - He was trying to be nice thinking dark chocolate = healthy. Can't fault them when they try :)

Put the candy bar in the mail ... send it to Narnia, please. I haven't eaten a chocolate candy bar in a long, long time. I was in the chocolate mode last year. Everything I made had dark chocolate in it. I think one square of chocolate (if added in your carb count) is acceptable if you can control the urge to finish it off. LMAO!

Mom - Do you want it before or after it swims in the toilet?
